Aubrey just how good would she be if she always played guard in college

Aubrey Griffin went from being the Shooting Guard in High School, to playing the Small Forward/Wing position in College. For some players, like Aubrey, that can be a bit of an adjustment, especially at such a Traditional D1 Powerhouse like UCONN. But, thankfully, in Aubrey's Red-Shirt Junior Season, it seems as if she has finally broken on through, and is, after "Major Back Surgery, providing the production and leadership, as an Upper-Classman, that this team needs, especially now, with all of the injuries that this team has faced. I, for one, are super happy we have her on our team

IMO, Aubrey is the ideal small forward. Play her closer to the hoop and allow her to use her outstanding athletic leaping and physical strength. Her handle is good enough to be the third ball handler but not good enough to be labeled a guard.

Aubrey has a lot more upside. If she develops a consistent mid-range game in addition to her drives to the basket, she will become unstoppable. I would encourage her to study Maya Moore tapes. With her athletic ability she can be floating baskets over bigs. Go Aubrey!

Reminds me of the sacrifice Kalana Greene made going fron a high scoring guard to a defensive, low scoring small forward/wing.

Highlights: Ossining 93, West Genesee 46 - 2019 NYSPHSAA Class AA Girls Final

This clip has some footage with Maddy Siegrist in the game (note the
game with the opponents with "LOURDES" on the jersey and Aubrey
shaking hands with Maddy Siegrist in the final scene = that is Maddy on
the left, correct?? Wonderful film clip! Thanks for the post!! Z

Aubrey's story is just being written. Injuries sidetracked her, but it's pretty evident that she's back on track to do great things. Her confidence has been restored and she is...feeling it.

Aubrey is a critical piece for our puzzle however she does have to areas of improvement needed to be a guard- her ball handling skills are not great under pressure, her passing/assists are not a strength and her outside shooting is still suspect. That said she is one of the premier transition players in the country and her defense is elite.
