Swish Appeal - Link

Providence with avg attendance of 390. Just think what it would have been if 2137 didn't attend the UConn game which was head at Providence last year.

Bluntly put, Providence and Seton Hall fans ought to be ashamed - if memory serves, neither program was deserving of such soft support. Should the Big East end up folding, if these two schools whine, I'll have no sympathy.

Why? Would you go to see them even if you lived 10 minutes away? I wouldn't

Let's not be too harsh on Providence and Seton Hall; Especially the support given to their respective women's programs. Seton Hall was once a major player on both the men's and women's side, and has made a substantial personnel move in hiring Anne Donovan. The Providence men's basketball program is legendary. One would be loathe to shun a program from which God Shammgod emerged.

Its ok to be harsh. Providence plays is a gym, Seton Hall not much better, Georgetown plays in a dump also fwiw. St. John's has improved its facility.

Facilities have played an increased importance in recruiting in recent years, so this may be a factor in keeping these teams mediocre. The fan "calling out" Seton Hall and Providence fans is wrong in that they don't go to games - for Women's Basketball they don't exist. At Seton Hall, RU fans, while in the minority, always drowned out the home fans.

Great name. Providence is also legendary for having a fan throw a...rubber replica of a male appendage...onto the court during a UConn-PC game a few years back.
