Finally watched this movie last night. How it garnered all of the oscar nominations it did is beyond me. The acting is wooden, the story seems like a television movie. Didn't buy Burt Lancaster's character at all and there's no way Susan Sarrandon's character would have ever hooked her wagon to him. Just a bad 197os looking movie (although it was made in early 80s).

Atlantic City was a product of its time. If you had seen it on its release, I'm pretty sure you would've had a different view.
