ATH Jordan Scott Talks Recruiting & How Huskies Fit Into Picture

holy speed.....

He's still visiting, and he retweeted one of Edsall's inspirational quotes the other day. My guess is that if the staff decides to extend an offer during the visit, he'll commit.

And now having Terry Richardson back may help as well!

Interesting recruit. Assuming he would essentially work as a "third down back" and on special teams. Hopefully he can add enough muscle that he can take the pounding. With that speed, he could be a unique weapon.

At his height, I assume it comes with great acceleration. It's unlikely that he'd be as fast over 100 meters as a taller guy with the same 40 time. That could make him a really good punt returner, and great on screens or draws.

When you get a kid like this, and everyone tells him he can't do this or can't do that because of his size - watch out. These types of players end up lighting it up and end up extremely loyal to those that give them a chance. They're going to play with a chip on their shoulder 100% of the time.

Barry Sanders was 5'8, 175 (4.4s 40-time) when he stepped on the OK State campus. By the time he graduated he added 25Lbs and ran a 4.37s at his pro day. He turned out to be pretty damn good.

There's a guy on the roster, #22, who has always been knocked for his size. He has a chance to end his UConn career as the school's leader in All-Purpose Yards. If my math is correct, Arkeel Newsome will enter 2017 with 4211 all-purpose yards.

ALL-PURPOSE YARDS (Career)
  1. 5295 - Tory Taylor
  2. 4813 - Joe Markus
  3. 4386 - Jordan Todman
  4. 4286 - Donald Brown
  5. 4211 - Arkeel Newsome
  6. 3642 - Lyle McCombs
  7. 3535 - Mark Didio
  8. 3500 - Vinny Clements
  9. 3386 - Wilbur Gilliard
  10. 3381 - George Boothe
  11. 3335 - Ed Long

5'6". Doesn't bother me Terry Caulley was vertically challenged. Seems that HE had some success & went on to better things in the CFL after recovering from his injury. Anyone remember Eric "the Flea" Allen from the Forty Niners? If you have talent, size can be overlooked.
