He's the Chris Dailey of ND? i'd say that's a pretty big blow for their future. as the lead recruiter the past 4 seasons, i could see ND going the way they went after they won their NC back in 2001 - they seemed to take a dip in recruiting and weren't challenging anyone for 1st in the BE or final 4's in the NCAA's...

Huge loss for ND. He was their x's and o's/game plan guy, lead recruiter, and the reason for ND's excellent guard play. The talented guards coming in next year might have trouble since he recruited all of them and is the reason why McBride has had an excellent freshman campaign.

ND's chances of landing Greenwell, Mavunga, Russell, and Reimer are all down the drain. I see Reimer to UCONN now. Muffet hardly ever goes on the road to recruit anymore. He would be a good replacement for them when she retires though

Doubt it's that simple. I'd put more money on UConn/Erica McCall, regardless of the Reimer/ND situation.

JS, why do you say that? I havent't heard anything about Erica McCall lately, so I really don't know how interested she is in attending UCONN. As for Reimer, I think she is still a Notre Dame lean. My biggest worry is that UCONN may have a class similar to 2009 when they only signed Kelly Faris.

IMHO Niele Ivey is the key assistant coach for ND. She's the one that got Skylar to stay at home. She's also heavily involved with future recruits and current players. Also IMHO she's the primary reason ND has been able to lure some of the elite guards to ND. While I don't know this for a fact, I suspect she's heavily involved in the strategy of ND's four guard offense.

We haven't heard anything publicly about either McCall or Reimer in a while, including their own dispositions toward UConn. As far as the strength of the recruiting relationship in each case, I'm going by my straws in the wind approach, taking into account a lot of little things I hear or read and adding them all up.

Afraid I can't be more specific. You never know what's going on out of sight at any given time. I don't have a direct finger on UConn's recruiting pulse and wouldn't want to say anything untoward. So, I resort to generalities, as follows.

UConn's interest in McCall was very favorably reported locally in Cali, and I get vibes that the interest from the UConn side is strong. On the other hand, I haven't had the feeling of a strong recruiting relationship on the Reimer front for some time. Could be missing it, but if so my straws are seriously bent out of shape.

So, I'm not making any predictions but said that I'd bet more money on McCall turning out to be a Husky.

Didn't Muffet lose her last big-time assistant coach (Carol Owens?) right after their title, and recruiting went down for a while? Not saying that will happen this time--most associate head coaches are looking for jobs elsewhere--CVS lost hers last year to UCSB. The A-10 seems to be a really good place for a coach to make a name for oneself and then move on to a big 6 conference (see Staley and Boyle and the old GW coach).
