UConn has 31 assists in the first two games. Last year the first 2 games they had 21. Last year, the most assists UConn had in a two game span was 35 vs Tulsa (17) and Ecu (18). There were no other two game spans where they hit even 30 last year. Seeing as this is the first two games I think Hurley and his Huskies are bound to smash that mark. ( I am willing to bet there will be two games where they hit 45 or even 50!) Plus only 4 times did last year's Huskies tally 14 or more assists. The two aforementioned games and the other Tulsa game (18) and Temple (16).

In these two games UConn had nearly as many assists (31) as the Oregon (4), MSU (6), Zona (5), Auburn (7), Cincy first game (5) and second (6) combined.

Even vs stony Brook they just had 9!

It will be interesting to see how assists hold up vs stiffer comp vs the cuse in 4 days (11 last year).

Really fun to see. This is a byproduct of fast breaks and not waiting until 10 seconds left on the shot clock to run your offense (a one on one).

Hurley has the offense running with a plan and the defenses is triggering the break much more at least nasty this point. We need to see that thursday.

They are passing the ball more effectively for sure early on and pushing the ball up court so much more fun to watch. But to be honest they are making shots and scoring more points too which also bring up assist totals somewhat.

And I think they've had more successful outlet passes in these 2 games than in every game combined last season.

Basketball is a simple game. Get the best shots possible and allow the worst shots possible. We are getting higher percentage shots.
