That type of offense is something that Diaco wants uconns offense to look like. look at the Sherieffs and T. Davis- the 2 QBs he's recruited they run that spread offense and Quinn would be your guy to run thy type of offense.

I'm all for Quinn as the OC. He would be a welcome addition in my book.
 
I'm good with Quinn. I can't believe Buffalo fired him. I got kicked around here by Pudge and Upstater because I thought it was a bad decision.
 
I know it's been said before but the fact that the hiring won't be announced until signing day makes me think LaFleur is the guy. Quinn is also an OL guy so I don't think it makes a lot of sense for him and Cummings to both be on the staff.

LaFleur is not a proven OC, so it wouldn't make sense to go that route. Bob Diaco is young and already learning to be a HC, so I don't see why we should bring in a young QB coach to take over and learn how to be an OC on a team that needs to hire an experienced (proven) OC. Jeff Quinn is a proven OC regardless if he's coached OL's before.
 
Even if ex-UCONN WR coach, Darrell Bevell, is an experienced NFL OC, his late Seahawks' Super Bowl pass play call might rule him out for the Huskies' OC position. ;)

no way! He made that bonehead call in the BIGGEST game in the world... We're pop warner level compared to that... Could only dream of Seattle getting rid of him and us being able to obtain his services...

HEY!! I wouldnt have made that call - but alot of other posters would. Those who want those TCU/Baylor type offenses would agree that was the right call.

Either Quinn or Molnar would be good choices. Both Quinn and Molnar have worked together at Cincinnati and Central Michigan. Molnar is more of a spread pass guy, Quinn seems to be more run oriented. Molnar's stock went down due to UMASS stint but other than that has a sound resume. The Jersey (recruiting) Notre Dame and VA ties tell me that Molnar might be the guy. Plus he has 8 kids and if he can manage a family that size, OC at UCONN should be a piece of cake. Supposedly he is a Caffeine fanatic and a Marathon runner. Good article below will give you some insight. If Brian Kelly would trust him with Notre Dame's offense, I have to think Diaco would trust him.

If Molnar is the guy...he could have hired him a LONG time ago too. Just saying......and I think it's too early to bring Molnar back up this way after his act at UMASS. maybe I'm wrong...but either way it has to be better than what we had.

You're confident we can dominate up front while other teams fill the box? And good luck selling that to our energized fan base. The game has changed except for the few exceptional dual threat QB's and 4-5* OL programs.

What energized fanbase are you speaking of?

Yeah - I want to run the TCU/Baylor/Seahawk offense that throws from the 1...that was fun to watch, wasnt it?

61 for 296 won the National Championship.
The RENT was packed almost every game when we didnt have a QB that could throw - and I showed up at every game saying -we might be able to win this - havent done that in a LONG TIME.

I am confident we could dominate up front - so many a poster told us how Cummings made Eric Fisher into a top flight OL and now that he is demoted, making $300,000 a year as the OL coach, I expect that our OL can dominate.

I'm not sure about Quinn or Molnar. Quinn never called plays at Cincy (except in the Sugar Bowl against Florida when Kelly went to ND) and Buffalo had its best offensive output under Quinn last year when his OC called the plays. Molnar didn't call plays at ND or Cincy.

I agree that Diaco will probably pick someone he knows, so hopefully he knows an experienced playcaller for a top offense in the FBS or FCS. I don't think Quinn, Molnar or LaFleur fit that description.
