Adia Barnes has been reprimanded by the PAC 10 for publicly complaining and accusing the officials of “ homing” AZ in their loss to Oregon.
Additionally, she went on Twitter to apologize for an “obscene” gesture she directed to the Oregon coach with her middle finger.

Usually, if both sides are culpable, they would make a joint announcement.

This woman has no class, thinks everyone is out to get her. Dawn gave her alot of props after their run last year, but she couldn't hold Dawns clipboard if you ask me. Hope to play them in the tournament.

At least get her first name right!

And I'll note, for those who are familiar with my longstanding grudge against PAC-12 WBB ref Missy Barlow, that Barlow reffed this game that reportedly cause one coach to curse to high heaven and the other give a middle finger to the arena and decry the refereeing to the point of a major fine. Just sayin'... ;)

Coaches tell their teams to adjust to the officiating. Not clear that Barnes includes this in her coaching, but she certainly found a negative, unproductive way to react rather than adjust.

Very different to flip the bird at no one in particular as a way of hyping up your team after a huge win vs. directing it at someone bitterly after a loss.
Not really. It's unprofessional. If she wants to flip the bird when she's off the clock, that's her business. Otherwise she is representing her employer. It's not a good look in any context.

Tell me, would you also condemn cursing like a sailor on the sidelines as unprofessional?

Yes the same way I would consider it unprofessional if my calc professor started cursing like a sailor during lecture.

Ok, then I guess you will be writing a letter to Geno admonishing him?

I will not. There are some things I wish Geno would refrain from, but after 37 years it's unlikely a stern letter from me would do any good.

No distinction in my book. She was given a pass last year for being "passionate" and of course, the obvious unspoken reason. This time she revealed her true colors.

I agree isn't the most professional look, but most coaches have their share of unprofessional moments (Geno included). Regardless, intent and who it's directed at is important. Angrily flipping off the opposing coach after losing a game is drastically different than saying "**** those who didn't believe in us!" to hype up your team.
