As for Diarra, am I over-reacting?:

Penguin Ugh GIF by Pudgy Penguins

Maybe if he averages 16-8 for the rest of the season, but not with his current averages. You can't give everyone honors without diminishing the accomplishment. He'll end his career as an extremely highly respected Husky, like a Giffey or Boatright, and that's awesome.

He is the pulse of this year's team. If he plays well for the most of or all of the 40 minutes, UConn will be really tough to beat. He doesn't need to score much to be effective either, but today he did score.
He was not good in the 1st half and they were down double digits.
He was great in the 2nd half and was key in the comeback win.

The ball doesn't move the same on the offensive side this year, and so UConn will only go as far as he takes them.

Reed was big also in the 2nd half and not very good in the 1st half.

If this team gets to the Final Four, he belongs on the wall of fame. Yes?
Yes.
If he pulls a Kemba or Bazz, he may be in discussion.
The likelihood is slim to none. Not a knock on him, just because we are UConn.

Overreacting yes.

Taliek Brown with 2-3 Championships = Very good and highly respected like @Huskyforlife mentioned.
I know what you're saying. It's a pretty accurate player comparison. But, and not only because of recency bias, anybody who was a part of the back to back teams somehow glow a little brighter than past champs.

I'm willing to bet he has a higher shooting percentage on his "prayer" shots than on his game flow shots. Not a knock, but its pretty crazy how many circus shots he makes at the end of shot clocks compared to his 3's.
We’ve been calling them magical shots.

January's really all about Hassan with Liam out, so the stage is set for Hassan...need to "survive" this month before think about post-season.

Season cancelled if no Diarra
Maybe not an all time Huskies of Honor great but….definitely on the most important to his team squad

He started off as a defensive glue guy who got minutes when we needed a stopper, a key 6th man to now a starting PG. I think he has progressed quite nicely in his duties and so glad he came back. He didn't soak on the bench when Aiden Mahaney got the starting nod at the beginning of the season. He just worked harder and concentrated on running the offense efficiently without turning it over a lot to prove he should be starting by his play and so glad he stayed a 5 year. He is my favorite husky on the current roster.

I got a kick out of hearing him called "the General". Then I busted him down to LTC for fouling a three-point shooter down the stretch....

Speaking of kicks, sure Hass can kick himself for that foul at that point. But overall he played one heck of a game. Let's just keep hoping he stays consistent and can play like that in March.

Truth.

He's my all American dude is a pure doubt guard set the team and calm down when things get out if hand. If he improves the 3 point shot he'll get drafted
