“Jaylin put down the headset and the controller and screen-sucking his phone and he’s in the gym at the rate that you need to be in the gym at. Instead of being a gamer or an influencer, he wants to be a baller and he’s in the gym like Alex,” Hurley said. “He’s got a different maturity. He’s ready to take the next step in his career.”

What is "screen-sucking"?

Alternate access:
Attacking the offseason more than ever, Jaylin Stewart is determined to break through for UConn men

He absolutely has the physical tools to be dominant on both ends. Beautiful form on his 3 except low % so far but that is psychological. I would think that he should be able to bull him way to the hoop with that strength.
12 points a game wouldn’t shock me.

He’s doing what he should be doing - putting on muscle and becoming a beast around the rim that can swing out and nail a 3. He was not and never will be a plus perimeter player, so for him to flourish he’s going to have to present a balance offensively and should be guarding 4s. He doesn’t have the feet or the handle. Would also be great for him to start ripping down rebounds because as a starting 4 next year, may need that to offset Reibe’s rebounding ability some.

Hopefully getting a quicker first step, studying footwork, and remembering not every shot has to be a 3. Better 1:1 D and we get Stew 2.0

Physically he looked very impressive. He's got an upperclassmen's body. Shooting stroke looked pretty clean, too.
I hope Stewart looked at a guy like Johni Broome last year and realized that upperclassmen who can get grown man strong and who have learned how to play can dominate younger players. Hell that whole Auburn team was an example. It seems Karaban got more or less the same memo.

It's impressive that we can really roll out a lineup of Jr, Jr, Jr, Sr, Sr when we need to. All of them being physically strong players. I know we're all high on Mullins but being able to put experience on the court when needed is nice to have.

It’s a bit of what Sampson has been living off the last couple years with these old interior dawgs that just crushed the soul of competition.

The mix of brawn and skill is definitely a secret sauce these days. Cronin just came out with a piece stating the key to winning these days is being old - there is truth to that. Florida had old mature guards last year. Now the key with a kid like Stew is using that brawn, not floating around the 3 point line all game.
