damn, one of the best stories I've read in a long time... thanks for the link

I mean, not to nitpick, but Maya did not have the game winning shot against DePaul. Game winning steal and timeout, yes. SO MANY LIES, MOORES.

Maya did have the key steal AND a deflection after that.

Maya also did not have a 4.0 GPA at UConn, but 3.7 is fairly close.

Even with some minor inaccuracies, ya gotta love Maya!

Grandparent have the right to remember who made the winning shot--no lies here, just great memories. I remember that game as every Uconn fan watching it then does now. Bob and Petrina, bringing up Grandkids isn't easy it adds another 20 years at least to the 20/30 years previously and to produce such an outstanding person as Maya in Chicago, every person reading this should applaud them. And to think that great young woman is an outstanding WBB player too --ice cream on the icing. Thanks for this article-- Uconn was blessed in so many ways getting Maya--so were we!!!

Just a Beautiful Family!Over 60 years married God Bless the Bob and Petrina.

After watching the video, who lies?

The UConn Huskies, with a little Maya Magic at the end, somehow pull out a victory at Depaul in 2008.

I haven't read it yet, but did anyone accuse Geno of buying a house for them too?

I remember that GrandDad just about stole the show on Maya's senior night.
As the announcer rambled on about Maya's incredible hoop accomplishments...and on and on
and on [there were so many of 'em], with the family waiting just off-court... her grandfather at some point began to do a senior citizen's jig which basically was
a joyful accompaniment to the stats. Great stuff!
