Back to actual basketball talk. Jayden Gardner was the only player who played for East Carolina last night who was also in the program last year. That's insane.

I've already appreciated the Bonnie's and they've been deceptively good this year. Their top-seven players are underclassman too with sophomores Kyle Lofton, Dominick Welch and Osunniyi leading the team. Always respected Mark Schmidt as a coach too.

And the power of bringing in grad transfers that can actually contribute, unlike every transfer we’ve had since Gibbs/Miller. Regardless of who’s been the head coach, we’ve been awful at bringing in impact grad transfers since.

Tulane is a real good team. dangerous. our victory the other day was boyz beating men. pretty cool in retrospect. I heard that last year they were 0-11 at home. this year? 6-0 so far. or something like that. only major flaw I can see is their weakness in the middle.

Ohio State is pretty baffling. They straight up dominated the nonconf. Large margin wins over Kentucky (n), Cincy, Villanova, @UNC (with Cole Anthony).

They're now 1-4 in the Big 10. It's a good conference, but jeez.

Not a fair comparison.

Firstly, only Lawson, Thompson and Thomas are grad transfers while Hightower and Walker are regular, sit-one transfers.

Secondly, aside from holdolders Zhang and Ona Embo, playing time was WIDE open for Tulane new players.

We all knew Lawson would be great, but Hightower was a 6.6 ppg player at Georgia, Thompson was a 5.7 ppg scorer at URI and Walker was a 1.8 ppg scorer at Seton Hall. This year, that trio has combined for almost 40 ppg.

Name me a UConn grad transfer since Gibbs who has not not one, not two, but three starting lineup spots to vie for. Anderson and Smith were signed to provide a third guard option while Onuorah was solely signed for depth reasons.
