Probably the most disgusting play of the day, besides the defensive game plan of course, was what the Army men's chearleaders did to our beloved mascot. During the 4th qtr Jonathan the husky was play fighting the donkey. The army student section was booing bc the fight was to playful for them. This is when the army cheerleaders pulled the "old trickeration" and lined a cheerleader on all fours behind Jonathan while another cheerleader pushed him And Jonathan fell straight backwards losing his head in the process. The young man inside the costume was injured holding the back of his head. As this is going on the army cheerleaders decided it was a good idea to take Jonathans head and play keep away. They finally notice that the young man was injured and gave him his head back. Jonathan proceeded to go inside for I asssume some medical attention. After a brief stint indoors Jonathan did make it out for the end of the 4th qtr. The army cheerleaders should be ashamed of themselves. A real disgusting display of sportsmanship all the way around.

Holy cow. Are you sure this wasn't planned and Jonathan got injured by accident? Usually opposing mascots play fight after agreeing to how it is going down. If not, that is pretty bush league by Army.

Not sure if it was planned. Don't know if mascots plan things where they can potentially lose their head

Didn't looked planned - once they had seen mascot person holding back of his real head they started to apologize. Classless

Mascot went to locker room and then returned.

The "fight" was planned. The mule suit walked around the field to the UConn side to set it up. Don't know about the rest.

I did notice the Army mascot was escorted off the field shortly after Jonathan left, but unlike Jonathan, the ass never returned. Hopefully he's been locked up in the stockade! Very bush league what was done.

I have a feeling some cadets are going to be "walking hours" for that stunt. That's a traditional form of punishment in which they have to march back and forth across one of the quads with a shouldered rifle for a designated number of hours. It's generally out of sight of the public but if you are walking down the barracks row and look through one of the portals into the courtyard you might catch some of the unfortunate honorees. It looks painfully tedious.
