Absolutely......how could I forget. I fear she will have to play out of position. BUT, she has amazing court vision and energy. When she learns to play under control she will make everyone on offense better.... obviously she will start rather than Caldwell.
Mbulito is a tremendous athlete and quality defender. Will she ever emerge as a shooting threat? Teams back off her and encourage her to shoot whenever she has the ball in her hands. If she could develop a floater, she would be more dangerous with the ball in her hands given her height and quickness.
That is the question. In addition to lacking any kind of shot she has very poor free-throw shooting.
She tends to play out of control. As we saw against Utah she had two missed layups and sometimes her effort to make the pass results in a turnover.
I think CTT can help slow her game down a bit, the question you raise - is it possible for her to develop any kind of shot. The jury's out on that one.
It is incumbent upon Taya Hanson to become more consistent with her shot. I also think Sara Bejedi may be the bogey next year. I remember very early in the year she scored in double figures in limited minutes and showed a really nice outside shot. However given her spot in the rotation she never developed enough time to show whether or not she can consistently hit the outside shot.
I'm still smarting from that loss yesterday. This weekend I suspect we split with Cal and Stanford it home. then we may turn around and face Cal again in the first round of the PACp tournament. Wondering how the seeding shakes out - it sure would be great if we got another shot at Arizona in the quarters.

ASU has pulled out more than its fair share of close PAC-12 games this season, often rallying in the last four minutes of games to pull ahead and close those games. That is the mark of an experienced team.
However, you do that too often and you play with fire. Evidence of that was yesterday.
I do see an ASU vs. Arizona matchup in the conference quarterfinals. If McDonald is out or limited for the conference tourney, I don't see Arizona advancing to the semis.

I remember Mbulito actually hitting the backboard to the left of the rim on a free throw attempt against Oregon State this season. Not an airball. She hit backboard, but to the left side of the rim. Hadn't seen that at the high school or collegiate levels before. Then, she made the second one. Didn't know what to think other than guessing that the first brick was an anomaly.
I took a look at her season stats. She is shooting 30.6% from the field, 17.9% from beyond the arc, and 61.7% from the line. Comparatively, her free throw shooting is her shooting strength. Just a shame for such an explosive athlete to shoot so poorly from the field. Oregon State backs off her and allows her to enter the top of the paint, closer than any other player with the ball that I have seen. The Beavs clearly are begging her to shoot from 12' or more out rather than deal with her drives.
