New conference will have energy, enthusiasm and spirit.

Re-packaged Conference USA will be viable.

Outstanding deal with ESPN.

Didn't affirm confidence when asked that UConn and Cinci would leave at the first chance.

Then went on to say that UConn has been instrumental on working with the name.

Bunch of bull$hit that dude was selling.

I have the theories from this place on my mind when I read articles and listen to these interviews.

Aresco wasn't saying UConn's name until it was brought up by the interviewers.

He knows we're gone.
That's no doubt.

But my doG he sure goes out of his way avoiding our name.

I didn't hear the interview, but my basic sense is that:
1. He is going to be positive. What else do you expect him to say, "Yeah well we're going to suck but it is what it is?"
2. Same with UConn and Cincy. He can't really say, "Hey they're caling every other conference on the planet and I don't blame them. I'd leave this steaming pile first chance I get too."
3. He isn't going to say "the ESPN deal sucks but they had us over a barrel."

So he's left with talking about what a great conference it is, what a great deal we got and how "involved" UConn was in making it happen. Hey, at least he's trying to be positive. I remember a previous commissioner who responded to a football question by asking whether St Johns would have names on the back of their shirts this year...
