Doubt that we see it at the same rate as last year. We have only 15 - 16 spots and filled 5 already. I think that they are probably targeting certain kids or positions and are waiting.

FWIW Coach P was always very good at evaluating kids at his camps while at SU - even if it wasn't a 'name' kid or the services weren't giving them a bunch of stars if the kid got his offer after attending camp you could feel good about them and they were going to be a player at the college level

We'll see at least 20 more new kids...

McEntee is a walk-on so that's 18 available scholarships.

i expect 2-4 kids to leave next winter/spring. several kids are going to give this season a go and if they get passed on the depth charts they will leave for pt. i expect qb, wr and db among other spots we may see some movement. P is loading up anywhere and everywhere he can for depth and quality, that's going to force a couple RE type kids out. Its not a knock on them at all. But it is what it is. I expect a couple juco's in this class who will fight on the depth chart right away, that will also effect some kids pt thoughts for 2013.

Every year the numbers are similar. I see only 15 scholarship kids on the list that Rich provided. Allen, Scherer, and McEntee are walk ons. Donahue has 2 years of eligibility left.

Between transfers, RS Juniors who don't return, kids flunking out or leaving the program for whatever reason......we will have right around 20 kids in this class, give or take a few.

I think that the staff has a lot of offensive guys that are interested in possibly committing shortly, but not very many defensive guys. So they may not be pushing for the offensive players to commit as much as the defensive players.

We need more defensive guys and we don't have any that are currently committed.

I blame Edsall. If he would've left earlier, we could've hired Addazio and been living the dream right now. Alas.

I'm hopeful that Pasqualoni has some secret recruiting plan up his sleeves because it's getting disheartening to see UConn at the bottom of recruit team rankings.
Granted, quantity isn't everything, but only having 5 verbals when most teams have 8 or more sucks.

Currently, the gap between UConn and Louisville/Cincy/USF looks bad.

Only saving grace is that it looks like Temple is eating into Rutgers' territory.

Eh. Purdue, Cal, Arizona State, and Oregon all have a similar number of recruits as us currently and they usually recruit pretty well.

Oklahoma is notorious for starting out slowly in terms of quantity.

Let's see where they are at the end of the summer.

It seems that the heavy June camp schedule has delayed sending out offers and talking to recruits about commitment.

I would assume we'll see commits in July.

Except that the Ducks are larding up on 5* and 4*'s. Everyone knows that there will be twists and turns, decommits, nonqualifiers. But I'd rather see UConn with 10 verbals and the momentum to pile on, rather than starting from the rear.

From what HFDan has written, the 125+ offers are far in excess of a typical year. Knock on wood it starts paying some dividends.

RE the last few years i lurked the recruit stuff was around 100 each year i think if i remember correctly but not much more. im sure some were never reported because back then he all about under the radar types. last year P finished at around 130 and this year were at 125 right now. big change. we don't need to be like a purdue, tenn or bc where were offering 200+ already but the 150-200 total would be ideal i think this year.
