Possibly our best Olineman and PPGDL put him on defense. The cupboard is bare. Let the arrows fly :)

Great article! Congrats to Andreas on getting the positive publicity! The way he's making such huge strides, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him playing on Sunday's once his Husky playing days are over. Love the attitude.

Pasqualoni did almost everything wrong. But this guy had only been playing football for a couple years. The learning curve for DL is less than it is for the OL, P, possibly though he'd see the field quicker as a DL.

Who cares, he's at OL now, and could play his way into the NFL. We need him to have a great season.

The whole P. experience. Just unbelievable. By any measure, this guy was a pretty good coach. Then he got to UConn and went insane.

The difference so far with this staff compared to P's...the position coaches he has had (Foley last season..now Cummings) are "developing" him. That is the story of P's sad existence as UCONN coach...non-existant player development!

Left out of the article was the fact that several ex-Huskies played on the Denmark team with Andreas. One of them, Alex Polito, played on the defensive line with Andreas and became his mentor. Alex took it upon himself to send film of Andreas to a number of schools, but more importantly convinced the UCONN coaching staff to take a gamble on Andreas. One of the reasons he began his career at UCONN on defense.

Andreas Knappe is not something you can point to Pasqualoni and say ... you messed up.

You have about 80 other stories that are more egregious. Knappe was just one big athletic Dane. He was going to take 2-3 years to get into some form any way you look at it.

Randy Edsall should've known that a CT Walk-On was going to be a future NFL Player!!!! Worst coach ever!

Edsall was long gone, so not clear what the point was.

While I dream of a day when a conversation can take place and not revert back to 2012-2013, those blaming P might recall the discussions that took place back then as to whether he would be another Too Tall Jones or, more timely, Margus Hunt (from SMU).

He looks like he could develop nicely as an OT, but let's remember his development is still in the early stages. He does give hope that we may soon have an OL that can create a lane for a RB, hold a block for 4 seconds, or, ............... both

If the guy is that athletic we should set him up as a tackle eligible inside the 5 yard line

Need more Thors. Love this kid. I'd grab a few giants from the Scandinavian countries all day long. They run extremely large, are as tough as nails and generally disciplined as a matter of cultural upbringing.

Handball and archery, K'naps former sporting ventures require highly developed hand/eye co-ordination. His development in OL technique is probably directly due to his excelling in those sports. I think the sky's the limit for this big,big kid.

Not normally a Davis fan but he did a nice job w/ this one.

UConn Expects Big Things from ‘Great Dane’ Andreas Knappe (Ken Davis)
http://www.todaysu.com/aac-today/co...ts-big-things-from-great-dane-andreas-knappe/

>>“He is constantly inspecting his game, his moment, his aptitude and trying to make the necessary corrections to be better,” Diaco told reporters last week when the Huskies checked into preseason camp. “If he carries that for the rest of his life, don’t put a limitation on him. He’ll smash it to smithereens. His best football is out in front of him. “He really just started playing offensive line. He’s not going to realize the top of his potential – he’s not even going to be close to it before he leaves here. He has traits to be great and he’s just getting started.”<<

>>“He has a rare combination of tough gentleman. He has a rare combination of aggressive intelligence. He has some things that don’t normally blend together, that blend together nicely for him. We use him as an example in a lot of those cases, and more often than not he uses himself as an example from an accountability standpoint.”<<
