Coach Ollie now watching Will Jackson again. Bennie Boatwright is on the other team so Ollie is watching him as well.
Can the coaches interact with the players at all? Or is it strictly limited to watching the games?

No they can't. I believe that if a recruit walks by a coach can say, "Hey," and other coaches don't mind that but anything more than that you risk other coaches telling the NCAA on you.

3, are the following guys all major targets for the staff to the point that we will be in their recruitment for the long run?
Malik Newman, Diamond Stone, Elijah Johnson, Carlton Bragg, Chance Comanche, Isaiah Briscoe, Jalen Adams, and Jessie Govan..

Also, do you think we have a real shot at landing any of those guys who arent Govan and Adams? I know we are in a good position with those two.

For Malik Newman and Diamond Stone:
I certainly expect them to remain huge targets. Coach having in-homes with both of them last week and watching them on Friday is what makes me believe that. They both must have interest in UConn being a package deal.

For Elijah Thomas:
He could stay a top target. I'm not sure on this yet. He told me he and his family love Ollie and that they talk everyday. We will see how serious things are shortly is coach does an in-home with him.

Carlton Bragg:
Personally, I don't think the staff should spend much time with him anymore. I don't think anything will overcome a strong push from UK. I hope I'm wrong in the end though.

Chance Comanche:
I don't see us getting him. I bet he stays out west at Arizona or UCLA or some other place. With him if we don't hear anything about an in-home with him, things may be cooling a little.

Isaiah Briscoe:
Coach was at his high school two Fridays ago for a reason. It was he's working on getting further in with Briscoe. Coach also watched him yesterday so as of now he's still a big target.

Prince Ali is blowing up - he should scream up the ratings when they're next updated.

Except, of course, at ESPN where the bucket-headed Goodman will cockblock him.
Since Dave Telep left ESPN I don't put too much stock in ESPN's rankings.

And after hearing Eric Bossi explain to me why Jeff Goodman kept putting Daniel Hamilton down I certainly don't put any stock in Goodman's talent evaluation skills. What a putz he is.

Goodman will have a field day with UConn next year when three of his least favorite players are on the floor at the same time: Ryan Boatright, Rodney Purvis and Daniel Hamilton. He's going to be even more insufferable next season than he was this season.

Any chance there's a high ranking big man recruit that reclassifies from 2015 to 2014 to fill our void in the front court this year?

What did Bossi say?
Bossi knows Goodman very well (they used to work together at one point). I asked him why Goodman kept saying Hamilton was a gunner. He said he was sitting next to Goodman when he watched part of one game last summer in which Hamilton put up a lot of shots. According to Bossi he made most of them, by the way. He said that night Goodman kept harping on Hamilton's terrible shot selection in the game after only seeing part of the game. Bossi said something like, "Yeah, but he made most of them. Isn't that what very good basketball players are supposed to do?"

Bossi said he'd rather have a recruit who made lots of shots than didn't shoot at all since some talented high school players are too timid. He said it's much easier for college coaches to tone down players than try to get them to shoot. I asked what axe Goodman had to grind against UConn. He said he didn't think that was the case just that Goodman got something in his head and wasn't letting go of it no matter what he saw later on. Stubborn? Arrogant? I'd say both.

By the way, after the final 2014 rankings came out and Bossi raised Hamilton to 14th someone asked him why Hamilton dropped in some other rankings. His response, "I don't know what others don't see in Hamilton. He is a monster talent to me."

Aside from what Goodman and others think of our recruits, I noticed earlier in this thread that Jackson's team was facing Bennie Boatright's team. Any specifics on either? Also, it was mentioned that Prince Ali was blowing up at EYBL. What exactly did he do?
Sounds like Ollie grabbed a few early 2015 gems.

Ouch...Willie Jackson's team (Georgia Stars) was up 57-38 at one point, but according to D1Circuit they ended up losing 74-65

yeah the left hand using the rim was also noticeable to me, nice skills for a big guy!!
Just what we need, a big with scoring skills and meat on his bones. Plus he has a great name to go along with Prince and Turtle.

"Turtle brings it up slowly…. throws it over to Prince who throws a dime to Diamond for the jam!"
