Two quotes:

"I'm looking at the history of a coaching staff," McLaughlin said. "Do they have any NBA experience, how many years have the coaches have been coaching, and those sort of factors. I'm also considering style of play, it's one of the main factors. Some coaches want to get it into a half court setting and some coaches want to run. I want to run."

"I'm not sure which one I'm going to visit officially," he said. "I'll probably use them on USC, Kansas, Indiana, and UConn probably."

Obviously getting him on campus is big.

He's been down to these 8 for a while. He just talked about it in that article.

Hadn't seen it posted here yet though, so thought I'd share. Plus, aside from the obvious usc bias, it's a good article.

I agree. Good article with great insight into his recruitment.

Any possibility that us and UCLA split McLaughlin and Perkins? I know Gonzaga and other schools are in the hunt for both kids, but it seems like UCLA is our main competition.

Who the $%#& wants to play at USC? Except for the super hot - (but dumb as a rock women) and weather there is no reason to go there. Oh.

I don't think its possible to attend USC and be dumbs are rocks. USC is a great school. Of course every school will have some exceptions.

USC is not a "great" school, it is an expensive school. I would go to UCLA anyday over SC.

USC is for rich kids who spent $10,000 to just barely hit 1100 on their SATs.

USC is a decent school.

They get the best players money can buy, like OJ Mayo.

Coaching experience? Check.
Exciting style of play? Check.
NBA experience? Big Time Check.

I would too, but USC has gotten a lot more selective in recent years. Also, for kids who want to stay in Southern California, the alumni network is incredibly strong.

USC will take almost anyone who can pay and studied underwater basket weaving in high school. Is is a bunch of spoiled rich brats- and this is coming from a guy that did his under grad at Tulane.
