All voters have UConn, UCLA and SoCar as 1,2,3.
They split among four different teams (at least) for #4, Texas, Vandy, LSU and Michigan.

1) Uconn - Ucla - SC did indeed get all the 1-2-3 votes
2) UConn still has all #1
3) VERY close between TX & Vandy as I thought it would be -- with TX taking it by 1 point!
4) MI edges up to 6, but a decent gap with 4/5

Well, it's clear who EVERY writer thinks the top 3 teams are given the differences are 31 votes each from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, after that it gets muddled, although 4th and 5th seem pretty clear. What I do find odd is how Duke is still way behind Louisville in the voting considering how well they have been playing lately and the fact the won AT Louisville on Feb 5, a mere two weeks ago.

Oklahoma, with basically the full roster from last year returning and adding Chavez has underperformed their skill sets.

Well, that record will be broken very soon. I find it amazing how far Stanford has fallen since VanDerVeer's retirement. Conference realignment and injuries have taken a bit of a toll, but it goes to show how an exceptional coach maintains serious luster to a program!

Gotta reward Georgia. Great win over Vandy. No way they don't move in the polls. What's the purpose of polls. The whole year, how many big upsets have there been? Come on guys!

Dawn Staley just won her 500th game. How old was Geno when he won 500? How old is Dawn? IOW, is she young enough to catch Geno?

Their skill set is their offense, and I don't think the offense has underperformed. Their defense has never been good.

I still think there is a realistic possibility that Dawn will be offered....and accept...a head coaching job
in the NBA. That becomes more realistic if she is the first woman to hold that position. Should someone else
get that job as the #1 then less likely that Dawn would want to be #2.
Number # 1 would be historic and I think that would really appeal to her...adding something new and different
to a simply amazing career.

I think Oklahoma has been really disappointing. But they are really high here! Looking behind them… there aren’t a lot of good options for dropping them down.

The top 3 have 3 losses. Two are to Texas. The other is to Oklahoma. While the Sooners have a lot of minuses, that win is a huge plus on their side of the ledger.

Geno was 49 when he won his 500th game. Dawn is currently 55.

While it's possible Dawn may be the first woman to be a head coach in the NBA (probably a long shot) a more realistic possibility is her leaving to get ownership of the future WNBA franchise in Philly.

Interestingly, Vanderbilt was ahead of Texas on 19 ballots, but still finished one point behind them. And on 20 of the 31 ballots, one of these two teams was #4 while the other was #5.

The difference was primarily due to Angel Gray, Cassandra Negley, and Maggie Vanoni, (each who ranked Vandy #8 while ranking Texas #5), plus Tennika Foster Brasby (who also ranked the Commodores #8, but ranked the Longhorns #4).

Christy Winters Scott delivered a head-scratching ballot, voting Vandy #8 and Texas #9 (with Michigan, Duke, Louisville and LSU in slots #4 through #7, respectively).

Texas just got soundly beaten by Vandy (which then lost to Ga) and barely beat Tenn. While not how I would vote, I can see reasons to be skeptical of the Horns right now.

Variety of opinions is what makes the poll useful. If everyone just followed group think, it wouldn't be a very interesting poll.

Oklahoma got mentioned in another thread. They are disappointing with Beers/Chavez duo and all those surrounding shooters....but they also managed to beat SC, which was quite an achievement!

2026 Poll: Top 4 have been pretty clear, but there has been an amazing parity from 5 thru 30 as talent continues to spread around to more programs.

It does look tough below OK, but it looks even tougher when you get down to the bubble teams for the ncaa tourney. All it takes is a 3 game winning streak, and teams can come back from the dead.

What I like about the current Top 25 is a couple of things. First off, seeing Minnesota, finally crack the rankings! #22/#23, is such a joy. Them Gophers are making us proud here in Minnesota. Next, Duke. At the start of the season, Duke was top 10 and of course they hit the wall. Seeing them back in the top 25 is pretty awesome and a huge shout out to Coach Lawson, her coaching staff, and the players. Next, Michigan. Magical season for Michigan. Coach KBA and her staff are doing a wonderful job.
