AP Top 25- UConn moves up to #4

Seton Hall receiving votes.
Shaheen Big East COY so far. I haven’t watched them play, but 11-1 doesn’t happen by accident.
Hall 49 votes (27th), the Johnnies 23 votes (29th). Maybe this will be a wakeup call for the underperforming guys in red.

Also, UConn is noticeably closer to third in the poll than fifth. They might be getting a few third-place votes.

We must be in a good great place when posters here are offended with voter(s) having the audacity to consider our team as 'only' the 7th best team in the Nation.

Just saying it seems being just a top 10 team no longer feels good these days.

Expected with the Duke loss.
I watched some of that Texas Tech / Duke game and thought Duke was solidly beating them. Surprised that TT won because I did not think they were playing that good.

I agree with our ranking and if anything, maybe a bit higher. If you look at who we've played, wins, total time winning games vs losing, neutral site games, we're as good as anyone right now 100% healthy. We just have to make sure that we don't play down to competition and give teams a highlight reel for their season :). I love the rotations. Keep people coming off the bench. And maybe most importantly, let's keep Braylon developing / run plays for him. I have a feeling that March is gong to be "his" time.... We just need to make sure he gets opportunities to show his stuff. Nothing but positives for me thus far in the season!

Seton Hall (2nd team out) and St John’s (4th team out) are close, but the BE is a party of 1 right now in the top 25

4th in the updated ESPN Power Rankings.

4. UConn

Previous ranking: 5

Tarris Reed Jr. looks close to full strength after missing most of the first month with hamstring and ankle injuries. In four games since returning to action against Florida at the Jimmy V Classic earlier this month, Reed is averaging 13.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.5 blocks. He put up 20.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in a healthy three-game stretch at the start of November, so he's not quite there yet, but a dominant Reed is such a difference-maker for Dan Hurley and the Huskies.

Next two weeks: at Xavier (Dec. 31), vs. Marquette (Jan. 4), at Providence (Jan. 7)
