With one 1st-team vote, Morgan is tied for 10th. Note the large drop-off between Moriah and Kelsey Mitchell at 22 votes each and Diamond at 10 votes.

Only one player is unanimous.

I received my SI in the mail yesterday. Its AA team: Stewie, Moriah, Mitchell (SC), Turner (ND), and Davis (Baylor); Turner is the only sophomore.

Second AA team: DeSields, Mitchell (OSU), Tuck, Wilson, and Jones (MD). Mitchell's stats are awesome.

Top five teams: UConn, ND, Tennessee, SC, and Baylor.

Awesome photo of Russell. If she and DD stay healthy, they could lead LV's to the promised land. Well, almost. ;)

I am predicting that Nina Davis is not on the first team this year because the two freshmen, Brown and Mompremier, looked incredible in the two exhibition games, as did Cohen, and it is going to be hard for Mulkey to keep them off the floor. Mompremier is a super athlete and reminds me a lot of Chiney Ogwumike. She is just so long at 6-4. Cohen seems to have recovered completely from her injury and also is one of the best athletes on the team.

So, I think that Nina's numbers will go down due to less time on the court, which will likely result in fewer AA votes.

Mitchell's stats ARE awesome, but it took her 336 attempts at 3-pointers to make 127 of them. Meanwhile, Kaleena--despite getting poked in the eye and the ankle taping debacle--made 121 in only 248 attempts. If K had taken 336 three, she would have drained about 160 of them, destroying the single-season record.

The problem is the Vols are stuck with Coach Warlick. She's like the Jeb Bush of WCBB coaches. If I'm Tennessee, I go after Jeff Walz and make him an offer he can't refuse. Walz is high energy, a great recruiter, and has made the national title game twice since the last time Tennessee has. That's one guy I wouldn't mind succeeding Geno.

Destroying the single season record despite a number of missed games.

KML only missed one game last season, starting 38 of 39 games. Despite the missed game, she was third on the team in total minutes played, trailing only Stewart and Jefferson. Her average minutes/game was tied for first on the team with MoJeff (28.7).

I meant over her career since that's the record she broke - career 3s made. She lost 8 games (I think) due to an elbow injury in her junior season, and another couple due to mono later in that same season.

Just for the record, in her junior year, KML lost 8 games due to elbow injury, 4 games due to mono and in her senior year one game from the flu.

Obviously, UConn plays more games than most teams, because they go deep into the conference and NCAA tourneys, but with 13 more games, Kaleena would have had about 430 career threes.

Well you may have meant over her career but the poster you quoted was referring to a single season record, and even in the response I quoted you referred to her "destroying the single season record despite a number of missed games." I have little doubt that if KML had shot more she would have hit more 3's than Kelsey Mitchell, but she did not shoot fewer shots because she missed too many games last season. As Milford implies, KML played more games (38) than Mitchell (35) last season. But Mitchell played far more minutes per game than KML because the Buckeyes were so short-handed due to a combination of uneven recruiting by Foster and very poor luck with injuries.
