AP Poll: UConn back in at #19

28-6 is a 3 seed without a doubt.

I agree completely with that. I think his point was that it's unlikely we'll win @Louisville on Saturday and then run the table in the AACT (likely including 3 straight wins over Memphis/UL/Cincy/SMU).

Agree. Good grief, UCONN was about #10 and then we lost to SMU and Houston and said bye bye to the top 25. But hey, it's Kentucky. Never underestimate their hype machine or people giving them a break...

Even when they lose, they still win. Or is that Duke?
Not so long ago, UConn lost 5 in a row and still stuck in the top 25. This is not the first poll anomaly.

UConn and Duke have the same record at 23-6. UConn is 19th, Duke is 4th. I can understand a 5 or 6 place disparity, but 15 places different with the same record seems like a bit much to me.

It's clear that many pollsters don't pay attention. Gary Williams and Jon Feinstein have some errors this week, and Rick Bozich admitted one--par for the course.

That is one of the saddest Top 25 polls ever. From top to bottom that is just not an impressive list of teams, kinda scary that one of those teams is going to be the national champion lol.

The last four years of college basketball has been so weird.

These polls are a week to week thing - not cumulative and based on an initial rank... So Duke was preseason #4 and UConn preseason #18 - about where they are now. If Duke was preseason #17 or so then it would be harder to explain this differential, but its all based on the starting position/ranking at the beginning. Thankfully the NCAA tournament teams are not seeded by this.

How many games can Kansas lose and remain in the top 10? I know of SOS of important, but DAMN!! 7 loses in the top 10!! They are basically losing one out of every four games.

If Duke was preseason #17 the world would stop spinning. We all know Duke can't be ranked lower than #5 preseason.

Lunardi still has Kansas as a 1 seed, that's amazing to me considering they have 7 losses.

That is a joke.

Mind you, I think the can win the tourney. But to make them a 1 seed is to say you are ignoring the entire season and seeding strictly on talent level.

I'm surprised Kentucky has a 6 seed. Did nobody catch that? How the hell did that happen?

They have an RPI of #17 and SOS #6, at the moment.

I'm not a numbers cruncher and I don't care. We just need to play and win. Simple formula is WIN the #'s will take care of themselves.

Wasn't Michigan State a #1 seed a few years ago with 7 losses? It's hard to put hand on heart and pick another team that definitely deserves to be there over them (Nova? UVA if they run the ACC tourney?).

While I would absolutely love that, it's sadly a pipedream, hahaha.

Would you have said that when they played Cincinnati? No it isn't a pipedream if they can play that stifling defense against Louisville. I admit that Cincy doesn't handle the ball that well, where Louisville does. Lets just play the game and find out.
