AP Poll - It's Unanimous!!

I thought it was funny to have read the the headlines 'Uconn upsets No 1. S Carolina' and alike before I realized that all those articles could have been written by a Robot. Have you read the news about AP uses computer to write some of its news stories? In the sense of an upset, it was only meaningful to those who has voted South Carolina No.1 prior to this week. We will know weeks ago UConn is the team to beat, maybe not during the first few weeks after the Stanford loss but certainly in the past month.

Not counting UConn, there's 5 mid majors ranked from those non-AAC conferences. Last year at this time there was only 2, so it looks like the non-P5's could be getting set to leave their mark in March this year. Nice to see Quinnipiac get a vote.

I've seen one of those programs (not necessarily the one AP uses), and I gotta tell you it was pretty sophisticated. I doubt you could tell what stories were written by a computer vs a person.

At last. Patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait.
Was there ever any doubt? No.

A momentous day! This the first time that UConn has gone up a spot in the AP poll during season's play since 2012 -- Week 7, the Dec. 31 poll after they routed Stanford to go from no. 2 to no. 1. They would later fall back to no. 3, where they would finish as their NC triumph in 2013 came after the final AP poll was released. They started 2013-14 as the unanimous pick but lost a top pick to Duke in Week 2 which they would regain for a perfect 900 points for the rest of the year by Week 3.

Life is good.

Umm ... week 5 this year from 3 to 2 after beating ND?

What? UConn behind the Irish? Sacrilege! Next you'll be telling me that some idiots were voting for the Longhorns over the Huskies.

Well okay then, the first time since the end of 2012 that they moved up into the #1 spot, which they never would have left if a few BYers hadn't overdid it before the Stanford game and blown the mojo.
