Do we fall back because of MES debacle? Do we move up with other teams falling out? Roll Skies.

I'm not expecting to move much at all, but I'm very doubtful we'll move down. My guess is like what people above suggested: possibly move up a spot or two.

If I had to guess, I'd say #16.

Two wins against WVU and the Bonnies will be a needle mover.

Win both of those and we will be 11-13 I would think. Rightly so if we pull both them out.

Are we betting steaks? It's been a while...

This week is almost irrelevant
Next week is huge with a true road game against a B12 team and a neutral court game against another good team. That should tell me about us a bunch about this team.

2 wins this week, I think we stand a chance at top 10 or close to it. A couple of losses and we're out of the top 25. This is a BIG week for us--as big as Atlantis... maybe more.

We get bounced missing 2 key players?

Both teams are in the 40s on Kenpom. I do think that would drop us out of the top-25. Even if it didn't, put us out of the top-25, it would be a hefty drop.

Man, it would’ve been nice to get a shot at Baylor, however I think we might be a slightly better team this week than we were in Atlantis

Agree 100%. Despite being down two key starters, we can’t make excuses for losing the next two. Moral victories, a la Xavier in Charleston two years ago, should not be part of the UConn lexicon in year four of the Hurley era.

If we win both games I think we are definitely in the 9-12 range. Those would be our 2nd & 3rd best wins, and we are already ranked 15 with one great win & one okay-good win.

FYI: In the current rankings Purdue's key advantage is their huge center Edey and Mark Williams at Duke is important for them. Sanogo has played against both of them productively at Hoophall. I looked back at my posts from 2020 to verify my recollection. (I had a typo that ING should be IMG) 26 pts 12 rb 7 steals and 2 blocks was Sanogo's line. Samson Johnson was also in that game alongside Sanogo and hit a couple 3's. He was a shadow of what he is now.
Attached snipets in case anybody cares to look back.
  1. Mac update

...better rebounder. In that ING game he was against 7' Duke commit #30 Mark Williams, 6'11 2021 #13 Moussa Diabate, 7'3 huge and good 2020 Zach Edey, 6'10 2022 #6 Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, and 6'10 2021 #121 Lynn Kidd. Sanogo had 26 points, 12 rbs, 7 steals, and 2 blocks. I haven't seen...

    Hoophall This Weekend

...Diabate at 6' 11 2021 ranked #13. They rotate in Lynn Kidd at 6'10 2021 ranked #121, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield 6'10 class of 2022 #6, and Zach Edey a positively huge human being at 7'3 class of 2020 who is a decent ball player and unranked. Jonathan Kuminga 2021 #1 for Patrick did not play...

    Hoophall This Weekend

...have been at least 6 quality bigs that are in the 7'2 range and over 250 lbs and have some skills. Dickinson, Harold Yu 7'3 Sierra Canyon, Zach Edey 7'3 IMG, to start the list. Lance Ware is the real deal. He plays hard, rebounds, scores, leads. With him and Terrence Clarke, and BJ Boston...

Oooph, that's gonna leave a mark. Not relevant, but interesting nevertheless.
Tigers 69-Gators 54

"Texas Southern (1-7) became the first Southwestern Athletic Conference team to beat a ranked Southeastern Conference program in The Associated Press poll era dating to 1936, according to ESPN Stats & Info. Ranked SEC teams had been 51-0 against SWAC opponents.

''We were thoroughly outplayed, outcoached, out-everything,'' Florida coach Mike White said."
