Agree with the above.
I stopped reading after this. Knew what was coming.
Basically what I’m saying is,
We are doomed.

That’s quite the statement - Why do you think that?I don't think Lashlee would come back here for all the money in the world.

I'm not an insider, but my perception is that Edsall and Benedict are aligned on a plan. Seems to me the way they both work. It may prove out that they have the wrong strategy, but I don't think Benedict cuts Edsall loose for lots of reasons, not the least of which is money.

That dog doesn’t hunt in year 3 as much as Edsall wants to cling to it.I think using "we're very young" in a coach's 3rd year is a indictment.
I have heard that narrative and while it correctly reflects his wife’s regional preference, I don’t believe it was the primary reason why he left, nor would it interfere with a 7 figure reason for being head coach here! His wife is a Southern Belle & hated Connecticut. ... but only instituting an entirely new scheme during the season will save us?Basically what I’m saying is,
We are doomed.
Prophets are seldom revered in their own time. This program is an unfunny joke.
I can see people already twisting themselves into pretzels to defend that disaster.
Only 2 more years until the 5 year plan starts.
I agree they are on the same page - a complete rebuild based on playing new recruits from year 1, results be damned in years 1-4. They have both committed to this strategy for 5 years. In year 5 we will either field a respectable FBS program or there will be no FBS football in year 6, if there is football at all.
Prophets are seldom revered in their own time.
I fear you are correct.
Uh, if we wanted to get rid of him, why exactly would we do that?JMO but at the end of the season Uconn needs to offer Randy a paycheck and some bogus title in The AD to go away quietly.
That is funny.. it is how we roll at U of C. Coaches leave and we continue to pay.....the old ones and the new hires.Uh, if we wanted to get rid of him, why exactly would we do that?

Ah, ok. I understand your point, though we'd probably disagree on the value. For PR Purposes. It stops the program's most identifiable coach from speaking out against his departure, and keeps former players and whatever fans he might have left from stirring up s***. Uconn can wheel him out every once and awhile to shake hands, take photos and reminisce about the old days.
Yes, a UConn Husky with a kind face.Ah, ok. I understand your point, though we'd probably disagree on the value.
@huskyrob1 is that more or less what you were thinking?
Don’t worry when we get to year 5 Randy will say the “5 Year Plan” was null and void because of UConn deciding to leave the American for FBS Independence and it’s negative affect on recruiting and scheduling. This program is an unfunny joke.

Randy won't get five years, I doubt he gets more than three if this year is another bust.Don’t worry when we get to year 5 Randy will say the “5 Year Plan” was null and void because of UConn deciding to leave the American for FBS Independence and it’s negative affect on recruiting and scheduling.
I’d be willing to bet my house on him getting 5 years. At least! We have no money for another HC, especially a legit one who can turn things around.Randy won't get five years, I doubt he gets more than three if this year is another bust.
If there's no more money for a head coach how are they paying Edsall for years 4 and 5? They only gave PP and Disco three years, how does Edsall merrit getting more? He sucks.I’d be willing to bet my house on him getting 5 years. At least! We have no money for another HC, especially a legit one who can turn things around.
Don’t buy into the myth of UConn being broke. 4 billion in total assets, $1 billion annual budget and over $385 million of cash or cash equivalents. I agree with you that Randy likely gets five years. If we have another one win season this year, and that’s certainly possible, then year 4 needs to be a big year to get him to year 5.I’d be willing to bet my house on him getting 5 years. At least! Edsall was hired because of his relationships with big boosters. He was not AD David Benedict’s top choiceDon’t buy into the myth of UConn being broke. 4 billion in total assets, $1 billion annual budget and over $385 million of cash or cash equivalents. Mmm not so sure about this. Who do you think was?Edsall was hired because of his relationships with big boosters. He was not AD David Benedict’s top choice
The hire was influenced by boosters longing for the good old days. Think Burton wanting Addazio. Got new lockers. Randy will leave if totally frustrated or if things become completely dire with no hope. Money talks.Mmm not so sure about this. Who do you think was?
So, again, who do you think was Benedict favorite, if you believe it wasn’t Randy? The hire was influenced by boosters longing for the good old days. Think Burton wanting Addazio. Got new lockers. Randy will leave if totally frustrated or if things become completely dire with no hope. Money talks.
