i have heard from a little birdie that we may be looking at him as a project pg and not a sg. anyone think that may be possible/true?

in that case this is my hope then

xrm, sam
selden
iverson
facey
no center

if more ships open up then a 2nd pf or a center.

I don't think that we will be getting Wayne Selden.

after Jamal Coombs-McDaniel and AO I don't see Selden coming here and if we were to get XRM why would you even need him at that point? Calhoun, XRM, Samuel sounds like a combo, SG position should be held down pretty well and then Calhoun and XRM could probably give you time at SF in smaller lineups. A committment from XRM would cause Selden to look elsewhere anyway if he hasn't already.

Best I could find of Video for Facey/Samuel (full game is on Youtube):

Best I got from this game is that Facey is a jumpingjack, but doesn't know the game yet and Samuel's is a more athletic Beverly type. Facey had a very good third quarter in this game.

I dont like Samuel from what I have seen. Too me the glaring need for the 2013 class is still a big man who is ready to step in right away. I like Nolan and Facey but I'm not sure either is ready to play right away. I think the Dominic Woodson kid would be an unbelievable fit with Olander and Nolan's face up ability.

I like XRM a lot he be a nice fit. I like the Wesley Clark kid we offered a lot. I like Selden I think we still have a shot there. KU and Ohio St could be a factor tho.

I wouldn't mind Samuel at all assuming he has at least a year behind Boat/Napier. He seems like a 4 year player who can contribute (ala Austrie/Beverly). He also has a good body for a PG. Not a shooter, but hopefully the coaches can work on his shot.

I'm not a fan of trying to make SG/Combo into a PG. Usually what you get is a slowish PG. I'd pass on an Austrie/Beverly type until we have exhausted more talented players. There are always Austrie/Beverly caliber players available and I'd pass on Samuel. A SG who can't shoot? No thank you.

I think now that UConn has 13 scholarships available again, they can use them on some 4-year players. I say he is Austrie/Beverly in the worst case and I see your point. FWIW I think he could be better, because he's bigger and more athletic already.
