Trying to find out if a band I think played at UCONN on a Spring Weekend between 1978 and 1982 actually did and was wondering if anyone every compiled a list of bands that played Spring Weekend shows. This show was outdoors, with the bands set up on the Student Union Terrace.

Thanks if anyone happens to remember or have a list of the bands.

I can only remember the unique combo of the SOS Band opening for the Ramones. But that was 83, I think.

From Setlist.com

4/30/78 - Good Rats, NRBQ, Tower of Power
1979 - no entry
4/20/80 - Chuck Mangione
5/1/81 - Rick Derringer
1982 - no entry
1983 - no entry
4/29/84 - Gap Band, The Ramones
1985 - no entry

I ran the search for Storrs, University of Connecticut & Mansfield (lots of Shaboo concerts listed under Mansfield). I know there are Daily Campus archives on line, but they are tough to search. Feel free to add/edit.

In 1979 Max Creek played in the South campus quad.

4/29/84 - Gap Band, The Ramones
It wasn't the Gap Band, it was the SOS Band. I know the internet never lies but I was in the conga line during "Take Your Time."

Have no doubt you are correct re SOS Band, because while I like them, I really like the Gap Band, have seen them at JazzFest several times and they did a scorching show on the New Haven Green circa 2001 or 2002 that's seared in my mind. Spring weekend 1984 was my junior year and me and the housemates attended that show with the "fun guy" ;) very easy to forget the exact lineup :p

.-.
Besides, The Gap Band was much bigger at the time, Party Train had come out recently. They would have been the headliners I'm thinking.

When you saw them, did they still have the guy who just danced? I loved that.
