The driver's side wiper blade developed a malady whereby instead of coming down flush at the end of the stroke, the interior tip of the blade would hit first and then the rest of the blade would slap down into place with a thunk. So one day I was driving along in the rain with my window open, and after the tip hit the resting spot, instead of slapping down into place, the whole wiper blade went flying off.
