You'd have to expect leaps in every one of these kids, given it's either second year in system or they're jumping from Frosh to Soph.

2023 UConn

Newton averaged 10
Karaban averaged 9
Adama averaged 17
Hawkins averaged 16
Jackson 7

What I would think we need:

Khamenia 12
Mullins 18
Silas 12
Hines 10
Landrew 8

Landrew will ultimately be the starting 3.
I would be shocked if Mullins averaged 18

I won't. He'll be our go-to scorer. I'm actually expecting it. He scored 12 this year in 28/mpg. Give him a year to develop, 34 minutes, go-to guy status, and I think he's easy 18. The extra minutes alone will get him to 15. Hawkins averaged 17 in year two. So why are you against it?

No - but he's a freshman, I have seen him handle the ball well for his size. He has massive hands, has really good ball control.

Reibe was a stiff athlete - there is no way you could play that kid at the 4. He was like a walking ironing board. I personally find Reibe's goals to be a pipe dream - his only way into the NBA is as a close to the basket kid. He shoots free throws at 50%. He does have nice touch around the rim. I don't know who is advising him, but he was 100% better off at UConn. His 3 pt shot is weird and ugly, low %. Slow release. Good luck - the whole thing feels delusional. No one is drafting that kid for his face up game.
I will agree to disagree on this. Hines isn't playing the PF position. You have your point and I have mine. I think mine fits fine and even when we had Whaley he was more of a PF and even shot the 3 at times. Hines is not that type of player and isn't that mobile from watching him in games. Mobile for a Center but not for PF.

I think a good 'target' for Mullins' scoring average would be 16-20. Hurley's offense generally has somewhat balanced scoring, but he is running sets to get primary guys shots. I would expect Mullins to be getting even more looks this year, as well as creating off the ball more. Mullins has the rising talent to have the kind of year that would put him in the company of the better shooting guards that have played here.

Not saying it's likely, but not ruling it out.

No, he's not mobile for a PF. But neither was a kid like Boozer - Boozer was a bully. Lean down Najai and he's an inch taller, 10 lbs heavier.

In Hurleys 8 years here who has had the highest points per game average?

Bouk was 18.7
Adama - 17.2

I'd expect in that range. McNeeley was 15. I'd expect Mullins to be highly green lit.

We still need to be more athletic…..we need players who can play above the rim…..

Absolutely, and his expected bump to 18-20ppg will ease the burden on the other guys. NK and Hines should both be around double figures based on increased PT alone.

It's April 22... if this were August 29th, yeah, I'd be panicked, but it's not even Summer yet, plus end of May is NBA didn't get picked high enough comebacks.

Mullins is now going to take his plus Solo's shots. That's a ton. He's going to avg 20+ pts.
