Last night Bob Picozzi reported the welcome news that this coming Friday ESPN would be replaying some important early round 2012 NCAA tournament games. Unfortunately, he referred to the culmination of the tourney as "The Frozen Four."

LOL!!

Don't think so.

If it was intended as a joke, where's the humor? I think this one gets filed under "Slips of the Tongue."

Now, if he had referred to it as the 'Culmo-nation' of the tournament, yeah, that would be intentional.

The way some teams have been shooting - K State comes to mind - I'm not sure that Bob wasn't on to something..

I didn't see Bob Picozzi but, I know ESPN had been promoting the Frozen Four which will feature a round (this weekend?) from Webster Bank Arena. Probably crossed his wires but, I doubt if he was doing a subliminal promotion;).

The most likely explanation. BTW, Picozzi had done the same mini-blurb several times earlier and gotten it right, but the last time I heard him say it he simply blew it.

KML has ice water in her veins. And Tiff will ice the games with FTs. And Icebear will be very happy. It all makes sense to me. :D

I took it to mean the untouchable four or the four whom everyone regards as automatic FF, no?

Possibly, but how many people in the audience besides you, me, and a few other Boneyard tea leaf readers would even think of that? My immediate interpretation last night was the straightforward meaning. I thought of the other possibility you just now mentioned only after I had started this thread and you launched your first response.

Picozzi's not that subtle.

Isn't that the nick name of the NCAA Hockey Championship Final 4 ...so he just had a slip of the tongue/brain duck*?

Sorry, really should read whole topic before posting repetitive stuff....

if i never hear picozzi do another game , that will be too soon. but have to admit that i thought the same thing, and thought that was pretty clever. and there's little chance that the frozen four will be thawed out by any of the other pretenders.

By jove, I think I've got it: over the past "X" number of years, we have had some tremendous March blizzards? Maybe four? (Yes, I know the FF is in earliest April this year)
