I do not want to take a whiz in the punchbowl but doesn’t that set us up for the same situation in 3 good years?
I know the assistant coach jobs have been posted in the past, but I don't remember a job posting for Hurley or Mora.I'm glad the state of CT didn't do that for the HC gig. I know we do things different here, but, geesh, let's get out if our own way...follow NCAA Football protocol with HC hires... just make it known up front instead.
Yeah but this would set a record never to be brokenThere won't ever be a situation where UConn has a good coach and bigger programs aren't trying to poach him.

“Poached before he Coached”
Feels like itRule #1 unfortunately
If he did actually agree to coach here. I have a feeling that someone in the media got word UConn was talking to him and jumped the gun to be first. They can get 4 out of 5 " scoops" correct, but they will brag about the one they get right. "We were the first to report'. The media is shameless.Yeah but this would set a record never to be broken

For those who dont subscribe to Storrs Central, times like this make it worth it- just sayin.....
Or realigned it commensurate with current realities.[QUOTE="JohnFSilver, post: 5393469, member: 1618"
I would say he rightsized it.
Correct. There won't ever be a situation where UConn has a good coach and bigger programs aren't trying to poach him.
Agree. 10 straight winning seasons. We had 10 straight losing seasons. So I’ll take my chances.Toledo has been consistently good. Better than UConn. Not a gamble, not safe but a proven hire if happens
And how many times did he win as the underdog? The Sun Belt was earning less in 2016 and 2017 when he lost to Appalachian State. He's also lost 12 games as a favorite in the last 5 years.
Who's the one that does not watch football again?
Narduzzi/Diaco flashbackAnnnndddd there’s the kick in the nuts that we all should have known was coming when this news was first said. As soon as there was a BUT in the hiring article, you all had to know it would go wrong for us….

I wasn't aware of any effort to try to keep Mora. What a week. This is a great morning, let's freakin go UConn nation. Mora did amazing things for us, but he didn't quite have his heart in Huskyland. AD David Benedict probably grew tired of the ever increasing Mora maintenance and so he slow played the CSU counter and rolled the dice. But the dice AD David Benedict threw were loaded, he knew this time around we'd have options. Well played AD David Benedict.
