Any word on a new HC @ UConn yet?

This has such a 2025 feel. Where the press is more concerned with being first than correct and people on social media just make up news. I was concerned last night when only one local news outlet was reporting it.

I'm glad the state of CT didn't do that for the HC gig. I know we do things different here, but, geesh, let's get out if our own way...follow NCAA Football protocol with HC hires... just make it known up front instead.
I know the assistant coach jobs have been posted in the past, but I don't remember a job posting for Hurley or Mora.

Yeah but this would set a record never to be broken
“Poached before he Coached”
If he did actually agree to coach here. I have a feeling that someone in the media got word UConn was talking to him and jumped the gun to be first. They can get 4 out of 5 " scoops" correct, but they will brag about the one they get right. "We were the first to report'. The media is shameless.

I would say he rightsized it.
Or realigned it commensurate with current realities.

I don't care what you call it. It got much easier.

This doesn’t feel like fair criticism. Yes, it did get easier, but back when most of these teams were scheduled we were terrible. We wouldnt have beaten these teams a few years ago. Further, when you’re scheduling games a few years out in advance, you can’t know how they’ll perform.

These next two years will be a nice show of what the program can do.

There won't ever be a situation where UConn has a good coach and bigger programs aren't trying to poach him.
Correct.
Look at Wazzu. Couple years ago they were comfortably in the power PAC 12. Today they have to find a new coach because Jimmy Rogers left after one year for Iowa State.

As long as we have an awesome AD like Dave Benedict, we'll be fine. Hopefully the flame burns bright today, or we find another coach.

The Sun Belt was earning less in 2016 and 2017 when he lost to Appalachian State. He's also lost 12 games as a favorite in the last 5 years.

Who's the one that does not watch football again?
And how many times did he win as the underdog?

There are upsets in the MAC all the time. It is known to be wacky. So much so that experienced bettors sometimes just stay away. I will take the 84-44 record at Toledo.

Annnndddd there’s the kick in the nuts that we all should have known was coming when this news was first said. As soon as there was a BUT in the hiring article, you all had to know it would go wrong for us….
Narduzzi/Diaco flashback

I'm assuming UConn can at least double this salary.

What a week. This is a great morning, let's freakin go UConn nation. Mora did amazing things for us, but he didn't quite have his heart in Huskyland. AD David Benedict probably grew tired of the ever increasing Mora maintenance and so he slow played the CSU counter and rolled the dice. But the dice AD David Benedict threw were loaded, he knew this time around we'd have options. Well played AD David Benedict.

I wasn't aware of any effort to try to keep Mora.
