Did she make the trip to Butler? Did she still have an arm sling? Was she out there able to do anything? Dibble? Grab balls in shoot around and send them out to the players?

It was reported that she'd be out 3-5 weeks, and I think she's only at 2. No sling that I saw at yesterday's game, and she may have been doing some light warmups, but nothing game related. Other eagle eyes could share.

I would love to see her be able to play 3 to 5 minutes a game in the BE tourney, 5 to 10 in the first two of the NCAA's. Should not be strenuous games. Try and have her ready as insurance for 10 minutes for the last 4 games. BE games not needed if she can at least be doing some part of practice that week.

I think they will be cautious with her so that she will hopefully be fit to play in the big tournament.......

Gone are the days when the 2nd round is a guaranteed easy win.

The 7 seed could be a team like Louisville or Vandy.

During the pre-game show on SNY Saturday, I thought I heard Chelsea Sherrod report that Ice was progressing well and the team hoped she'd be back by the end of the regular season, but could be the BET.

UConn was missing half of its team last year and was a pont away from the final game. If they are healthy and play to their ability they will blow through the first weekend without a game being close at the half. In the second weekend they might have a 15-20 point game in the first game and the E8 game will be a good one because the most likely will be playing a 1 seed.

No team wants to play UConn in the tournament. They have the best players, they have a great coach, and they know how to win and expect to win big games. If I was forced to bet on one team heading into the tournament I would go with UConn. If they get good games from Paige, Azzi and Sarah they are going to be almost impossible to beat.

For a while it was Jana and Ice splitting time at center, then Sarah started to get some small ball minutes there, then Morgan was getting some backup minutes there, and now that AuBrey is back she's getting small ball minutes in the middle too. For games in which the outcome is not really in doubt, I hope we get Jana as many minutes as possible, and force feed her in the post until her hands bleed. She simply HAS TO make the bunnies, the layups and put backs. She HAS TO get better position to box out and get her share of the tough rebounds AND know what to do with it when she does. She is the post player of the future for this team, use every available minute to develop her skill set.

As the bench rotations get shorter, I have no issue at all with Jana/AuBrey/Sarah taking all the center minutes. Even against Creighton and Marquette, you may only see 8 players get in the game. It's no longer a intermural league where everyone with a jersey gets to play.

#14 seed Jackson State was no pushover, either. They had a player, Angel Jackson, go to the WNBA after the season ended
Wait, what? We Beat JSU by 22, we had a 14point lead after 1Q and a 21 pt lead at half. I was at the game and it was absolutely a mismatch. To state otherwise is misrepresenting the facts. The Syracuse game was tighter mostly due to the herculean efforts of Dyaisha Fair who played all 40 minutes and had 20 points. But that game too was never really in doubt.

I will be at the XL tomorrow night, and I can't wait to hear the ovation from the crowd when Caroline enters the game. I hope the XL roof doesn't come down since this may be one of the loudest ovations of the year. Can't wait to see her play, especially when that first 3 pointer goes down.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time.

The "if" in your last sentence indicates that you believe UConn must be at its very best to win the NC. As for the best players, unfortunately, Notre Dame has as many good players as UConn. SC may have more. I believe that if the non-starters play well, UConn will be hard to beat.

But Maggie Vanoni reports the Geno said she “could” be back. That’s not as encouraging.
Hey, saying she could be back this weekend means she WILL be back, even if it is the following weekend, just knowing that she will be back is caused to be happy.

I'll be there. Planning on going early in hopes of winning a Geno bobble head. Years ago UConn gave away Calhoun bobble heads (I have one) and Geno was asked why there's no Geno bobblehead. He replied that one wasn't needed because UConn has the real thing.

I guess Ice’s shoulder is better. Posted 2 days ago

I love that Strong is doing this. She always seems so reserved.

Shoulders are tricky. Mine is arthritic and it hurts to brush my teeth. Hopefully, ICE is in far better shape. But her injury came out of no where and it has lingered. So I worry. But 5 weeks was mentioned.

Geno said in his pre-Creighton game interview that chances are looking like Ice will be back in 1 week!

To God, 1.000 years is like a day. But to Boneyarders a week is an eternity.
