Tucson is no cheaper than PHX. We just booked flights and a hotel. It is very expensive but it's about time I went to a final four(btw, there is no jinx because I haven't been to one before!). I'm going to throw a big party before the game. I'll provide details soon

I don't know what you consider "expensive" or how far you're willing to cast a net, but when I lived in Ffld Cty, I'd often find deals flying from Philly. There are RTs to PHX for under $700.

Check the Hopper app. Quick look says you could probably find something for $500 from Hartford to PHX.

San Diego is an option, it's a bit longer drive than Las Vegas (straight shot on I-10, can do 85 mph the entire way)

Plenty of flights (non-stop) out of JFK and EWR (maybe Boston, I know Jet Blue flys that route), and rental cars in SD are fairly inexpensive. Could enjoy a day or two (or more) at the beach if you go out early or stay a while afterwards.
