The APR has not had an impact on UConn's invitation to the ACC - there was no invitation to impact.

Congrats on almost finishing two complete sentences.

Yes I grammer police.

Borges and mike A both said on their blogs that it was a good % that it could happen.

I can't tell wether this is a brilliant calculated response or just a reaffirmation of Fishy burning you.

With recruiting season coming up we need to give 99 the benefit of the doubt on this one.

and nothing was going to happen during the season. if something's going to happen it'll materialize over the summer and move from there.

As to UC being invited to the ACC, I have 2 words for that

NOT HAPPENING.

As long as B.C. has anything to say about it, we will not be invited to the ACC anytime soon. Maybe, just maybe if B.C's AD, "Flipper" retires, there might be a change in attitude at Chestnut Hill, but until that happens, don't be holding your breath waiting for any invitation from the ACC.

I don't really think an invite to the ACC is very exciting at this point. That conference is a drag in so many ways. The conference bball tourney sucks, the football sucks and the tv deal is weak compared to the other big conferences. We need to stay where we are, help the Big East rebuild and let realignment shake out. If we get an ACC invite we go, if not, it's God's will.

Fortunately, UConn seems to be charmed in so many ways for a state U in little Connecticut. Somehow, I think things will work out in our favor in the long term. Until then, build academics, athletics and the endowment. I just have this suspicion that someday we will look back thinking "wow, that sure worked out nicely for us".

I learned a few years ago that if you work hard and do things the right way, things fall into place. If you focus on controlling situations you can't control, you will actually end up worse off. Herbst has the idea now, nose to the grindstone and the chips will fall where they may.

I think the NBE can be a lot better for us than most anticipate. As our new AD says, "we will dominate". If we focus on kicking ass and do it, the NBE is a better place for us as of today. The only risk is bad coaching hires that allow us to slip off the map. I believe that Herbst and Manuel realize this and will make the administrative and hiring moves that need to be made to keep us in the limelight while things shake out. The ACC has no guarantee of future relevance like the big 4 conferences have at this point. Look at BC and be careful what you wish for. Besides, a UConn invite to the ACC that doesn't include ND, probably signals the imminent unraveling of the ACC itself.

You know you make a number of good points. I will disagree with your assessment on the future of the ACC. Unless a number of teams from the ACC jump to the SEC, i.e. Miami, Fla St. V-Tech,maybe Clemson and GaTech, I think the ACC will stay pretty relevant. Your comment on BC, I disagree with because of the fact that BC is irrelevant in Boston. I have mentioned before that BC is down the food chain in Boston for 3 reasons. The Redsox, The Patriots, and the Bruins. BC's relevance is only in hockey, and the ACC doesn't do hockey. BC is the ACC's answer to ND. All sports except hockey. IF, and this is a very big if, the ACC did dissolve, with teams like Fla. St. , Miami, V-Tech, Clemson, maybe Ga.Tech bolt to the SEC, then there would be several teams that could enter into the Big East, some with good football or at least adequate football programs, and others with very good b-ball programs. But does the ACC fold? I am very skeptical of that notion.
