While not as impressive as all our win streaks being WAY longer than any other school, here's another stat showing how far we have outdistanced the field in the past 25 years.
UConn's romp over South Carolina on Sunday was the team's 16th 20-point win over an AP top-5 team over the last 25 seasons, which is THIRTEEN MORE than any other school. (Duke and Notre Dame each have three.)
Pretty dominant, huh. Now, if we can just add another natty... :)

A similar wild stat is the results of #1 vs #2 ranked teams:
Connecticut #1 vs someone else #2: 14 wins out of 16
Connecticut #2 vs someone else #1: 8 wins out of 10
everyone else: 24 wins for #1, 14 wins for #2

Do you know how many of those other 15 times were during seasons when UConn won the championship?

The media guide didn't start listing ranked opponents in the yearly results until 2004. Between 2008 and 2015 Connecticut beat 11 top-5 opponents by at least 20 (there were a few 18's and 19's in there too). All of those were in championship seasons except 1/31/11 against Duke (Maya Moore's senior year). They also beat Georgia (4th ranked as I recall) 11/12/00 by 27 to open the 2000-2002 season. So that would be 10 of the 12 I can identify.

That was an awesome game. IIRC (and that's a big IF), Geno played all of his players (like 14?) in the 1st half. Including the Big Rig.

Here is something stat-wise I noticed. If you go on the stat leader board on ESPN and look up the top free throw percentage leaders in the nation, it expands out to 331 players. To qualify, you must have played at least 75% of your team's games and averaged at least 2.5 made free throws per game.

Not one UConn player qualifies to even be on the list...not even Paige. This is not a 25 year look, so I guess it is thread adjacent, but it's pretty unusual for a team to be amongst the leaders in most offensive categories when they can't get to the line. It's not for lack of trying.
