This is a surprising record. I would have thought that Baylor/LSU would have been up there because they have been high seeds in recent years and have had what I thought were cupcake first round games.
And this stat also reminds me of the 2018 first round game against poor St. Francis (PA)...140-52.

I think Baylor/LSU are more able to run up the score in the early season OOC games than the NCAA tourney games.

I just can't imagine what Tennessee fans would make out of that record. In the years they wandered in the desert they were reduced to carping about when the UConn starters were pulled and the like.

There is a long layoff between the BE tournament and the first games of the NCAA’s. You have to use those early games to get everything you can right. Geno is getting the team, starters and subs playing hard and not easing up too much because it’s preparation for the games to come and not due to a desire to embarrass their overmatched opponent.
