UConn Coach Ties Tara VanDerveer in AP Top 25 Poll Record

UConn Huskies coach Geno Auriemma recently tied Tara VanDerveer as the former was included in AP's Top 25 poll for one special category.

So next week Geno breaks another of Tara's records and sometime next season he will have the most Top 25 appearances in the history of NCAA basketball and all at one school.

There is only ONE GENO and thank GOD WE have him. What ever award, record or accolade Geno earns, it is earned by his genius coaching ability and the way he handles his players. I am so glad he signed to coach for another 5 years. GENO FOREVER!!!!!

I believe that Geno also holds the record for the most consecutive weeks ranked in the Top 25. If I remember correctly it was in the 93-94 season where they started the streak and it's still active.

I think perhaps it may be more like "he has us" as opposed to "we have him." But either way...we win.
