"Cold wave article about JLamb....from his quotes he seems clueless about what is going wrong with his offense recently and he seems to think his defense is solid.

It seems inconceivable that the coaching staff has not discussing that he needs to make better cuts, use screens more effectively and quit forcing the 22 foot plus jumpers.

Shabazz made similar, disturbing quotes 1-2 weeks ago.

Is it possible that no one is pointing out that they are late in closing out, not getting a hand up on opposing shooters and making ill-advised reach-in attempts? Is it possible that no one is pointing out that they are forcing shots that are taken out of rhythm? No one is telling JLamb to work harder at getting open and make some 2 point shots to get his confidence back?

Or are JLamb and Shabazz just not listening?

For the most part our defense has been solid. I think before the L'ville game we were 4th or 5th in the country in fg% defense. I admit they could do a better job at staying with their man and defending the 3. Hard to argue against their offensive ineptitude though. I'm not sure if they will figure it out this year because it seems to be getting worse. Our one saving grace is Boat is just starting to get his sea legs. I see more potential when he is running the point. But it's tough to put all you eggs in that one basket especially with a freshman and one not named Kemba

imno1 is dead on ... UConn's defense - with the exception of the Louisville game - has been outstanding. Against Louisville, they just quit and got run out of the building. I'm hoping it's called rock bottom, because if it is, it might just save the season.

They might not beat Syracuse on the road, but if they play well they can rebuild that momentum through the rest of the regular season and into the big east tournament. I'm guessing all we need is win 20-plus, make it to the BE semifinals and considering our strength of schedule is tops in the country, we'd get an at-large bid. Again, that's if we can peel ourselves off the court after what Louisville did.

As for Lamb, I think the problem is two-fold - 1 being we're seeing the real Jeremy Lamb in a sense that it's not the wide open because everybody is trying to stop Kemba version of Jeremy. He's a good shooter and when he has been open, UConn's other players haven't been in a position to get him the ball because the ball movement overall is just so bad.

I think the person that's got to step back is Shabazz. He's killed the team in BIG EAST play, absolutely killed us. What is he shooting over this bad stretch? Like 13 percent?

I'm at the point where I'd rather see Andre, Alex and Tyler taking 75 percent of the shots and the guards should look inside first, move the ball second and shoot the ball third, only on open kick-backs.

I wish we could get an inside look at practice. Are they that dysfunctional there also?

I am a UConn fan, but your comments on these two players and their defense are way off base. It is my belief that they are a bunch of prima donnas. Did you see the Louisville game and they way they gave up? That was gutless. If I were the coach, I would have emptied the bench with about 10-12 minutes left in the game.

Lamb could be an NBA allstar if he learned how to move without the ball like RIP.
