Bring in Paul Duckworth, grew up playing alongside the kid. He was a beast and can certainly relate to recruits who can turn a full ride into a better life. Last I heard he's living in TX with his family. Not even sure if he's stayed close to the game but I'd offer him some type of gig to get him on staff and back home.

Bring in Matt Degannaro for a talk. If we're fighting for our life I'd like for true UConn football players to be fighting alongside.

What's Andre Dixon doing? Bring him in!

Wish AD had more eligibility, but can't imagine a better candidate for coaching young running backs. He was a fiery emotional leader.

Duck was the man... remember him back in the day... Danbury kid... Good dude all around, but does/has he coached anywhere?

I'm a Danbury kid too, Paul was a year younger but took our program to a new level while he was there. I saw two of my best friends away a full scholarship. I'll never forget the day I saw Paul, his first day on campus. I told him to "play hard" and he told me he was at UConn to get a degree, that was the hard part.

Playing hard came naturally.

As I said, don't know if he's stayed in the game, last report has him in Texas. Worth a phonecall though IMO. He married a great girl from Danbury, that's all I know.

Lagow just lamented on twitter he wishes coach White had at least informed him. Lagow is awesome. Great accolades and something like this can blow it.

How about Sean Mulcahy on D-line with HH moving up to DC. Ironic the initials on the dumpster fire HfD. I know it's waste management but maybe this whole thing is some sort of bad karma.

I saw this too. What does he mean by that? Is he upset he left because this guy was a reason he was coming to UConn? Or was he just making a stream of consciousness tweet? Odd....really hope the kid remains committed. He seems like a great kid and a winner!

Think it was nothing more than just a gee it would have been nice. He said he's committed still on a later tweet.

Matt Walsh same sentiments... and he was his position coach. Said can't blame him for taking job back @ where he played. Sounds like both just wanted a "call".

Clayton White was the recruiter for Texas and he was the one who handled most of the early contacts with Lagow. Presumably Lagow thought of him as a friend and would have expected notice of his departure the same way we expected Edsall to tell his team in private he was leaving before it was announced in public.

Thanks...this is what I was worried about/thinking. Wasn't sure who recruited the kid and was worried that it was White. Clearly it was. It seems like the kid is truly committed to UConn which is great. Was worried that White was his link to UConn and he'd reconsider seeing he left.
