True. I believe Hurley will get every ounce of potential squeezed out of Jalen. I believe this will translate to wins and early

False. I think we average around the same. Maybe 70. I just don't believe we have enough shooting to be a high octane scoring team. We're going to hang our hat on our defense, effort, and intensity.

True. I think the development of Carlton and whaley, along with the addition of yakwe will make us a good rebounding team

False. He'll average around 14 but be way more efficient doing so

Playing in an offense that does not require him to have the ball for 25/30 seconds every possession can only be a positive for him. Plus if we want to contend this year we need him to play to this level.

Last year we were incompetant on offense and scored 68. 72 is definetly possible.

Are they capable? Maybe but I’m gunna guess no. Drastic improvements in 3pt % seem to be unlikely to me.

Our bigs are a year older and more mature. Im hopeful we will be above this.

-False

I would be very surpised if Carlton averages more than Vital/Gilbert or even Sid, let alone Jalen.

6. Vital will have a scoring average of 16 plus a gm?
-False

I feel as though Vital’s PT might take a hit this year therefore I don’t see him scoring that much.

7. Polley scores less then 7 points per gm for an average this year? (2.7 last yr)
-True

I think this is likely, though I feel he will make a slight jump. Maybe around 5-6 per game?

8. Alterique Gilbert plays a full season?
-True

He has to get lucky this time around right? (Plus we really need him to be healthy)

9. UConn loses 3 games by 20 or more this year?

I feel like Hurley will make us much more competitive than many of the blowouts last year.

Bouknight has made it clear he loves the staff and seems to be favoring UConn when he talks about his recruitment in my opinion.

Though I wish this happens, it probably won’t. Not year 1.

-False

Probably between 10-12 as one of the last few teams in if they get in at all.

True. Not strong competition. Jalen will have a good supporting cast and be put in a position to succeed. Hurley knows that getting players to the NBA is key to recruiting, and he'll shepherd Jalen to a good draft position.

True. Tempo will be faster.
3. Team is capable of a 3 pt fg pct of 35% or more?
False. Team will be close to 35%, but hard to get over 35% when the best shooters are around there. Maybe Vital steps up to 40% with better shot selection, but then his shots are down. Gilbert will be around 30%.
4. Team averages under 36 rebounds a gm this season?
False. They were 34 last year and I think they can get at least 2 more.
5. The 3rd leading scorer on our team by years end will be Josh Carlton?
False. Carlton won't even be top 3 in minutes, and certainly won't be top 3 in shots.
6. Vital will have a scoring average of 16 plus a gm?
False. Vital gets pushed out of the starting lineup by Alterique and Sid.
7. Polley scores less then 7 points per gm for an average this year? (2.7 last yr)
True. He'll improve significantly but he's still a tweener, slight for the 4 and slow for the 3, so Sid and Yakwe/Whaley/Cobb/Williams/Diarra will eat into his minutes.

False. One or two.

True. Boeheim is starting to lose it.

False. No insight, just going with odds.

True. The low predictions for UConn give him a low hurdle to jump.

It's hard to do this objectivly as a fan, but I'll try
1) yes. He has the talent, and now he has the coach
2)true. Hurley will have them playing a proper offense, not the streetball chaos of Ollie
3)true. You said capable, so I am going in that. Doesn't mean they will actually do it
4)hard one, have to go with true. We still don't have that monster inside. Carlton is good, will be better with Hurley, but he is not that big, still needs weight room training.
5) false. He will produce, but Adams, Vital and Gilbert will score more
6)true. I think around 16 is a good estimate for him. I like him. He is tough. If he does what the coaches tell him, he will have a good year.
7)this is a hard one. I say false, I think he will score between 7 & 9
8)true. Maybe wishful thinking, but I think what they did for his shoulder will hold up.
9)false. They will not get clobbered by anybody. Not if they play the way Hurley wants.

True - I think tempo increases and the team is more efficiently offensively under Hurley.

False - Not enough true shooters

4. Team averages under 36 rebounds a gm this season?
False - With increased tempo, the rebounds will come up

5. The 3rd leading scorer on our team by years end will be Josh Carlton?
False - Don't see this at all. He'll be 5th.

6. Vital will have a scoring average of 16 plus a gm?
False - More even distribution of scoring this year -- playing as a team for a change.

7. Polley scores less then 7 points per gm for an average this year? (2.7 last yr)
True - I agree with a few others, he's a 4-6 type of scorer this year.

8. Alterique Gilbert plays a full season?
True - He's due.

9. UConn loses 3 games by 20 or more this year?
False - Maybe a clunker or two but I highly doubt three.

True - Screw Syracuse

False - Just playing the odds on this one

True - But purely guessing

True - I think UCF is going to underperform preseason expectations of winning the league.

False - Don't think they make the jump this quickly. Double digit seed.

I will say that I'd happily be wrong on the first 13 if 14 turns out to be true.

Easy true. It's capable of it, whether it will happen is a different question. Good ball movement will make for easier shots. I do expect the 3PT avg to increase.

Don't think so. We were close to that last year. It will have to be gang rebounding though.

False, too many options ahead of him.

Good question. If things are going well he should be taking less shots, but better ones. I'll go with true.

I'll go with true. For his sake, I hope so.

False. We have only averaged 72 or more points 3 times in the last decade. When we win, we're going to win with tenacious defense.

True. The offensive sets will get us better looks and we won't be throwing up as many prayers with 1 second left on the shot clock

False. We averaged 34 last year, I see no way we end up as a worse rebounding team.

False. Jalen, CV, Gilbert and Wilson will probably be our top 4 scorers. I expect us to finally get out in transition with our guards and wings leading the charge, making easy buckets bringing up their per game averages.

False. Gilbert eats into a lot of his minutes. He has similar scoring stats to last year but with improved percentages

7. Polley scores less then 7 points per gm for an average this year? (2.7 last yr)
This one is close, but I'm going to say False. I see him getting 7/8 by hitting a couple three's almost every game. We don't have that many shooters so he'll have the opportunity. I think there are games he'll be good for 3 or 4 shots from deep and other games where he's 0-3, 0-4. I don't see him scoring much in the paint

8. Alterique Gilbert plays a full season?
True. It has to be true for us to be successful, so I'm just going to say yes. After easing himself back onto the court over the first few weeks, he starts taking starters minutes by conference play.

9. UConn loses 3 games by 20 or more this year?
False. That will be the equivalent of a 100 year flood for us.

10. UConn beats Syracuse at the Garden?
True. The team will be incredibly hungry after last years performance and I don't think 'cuse will be anything special this year. Hurley will have this team up for his first rivalry game at UConn.

11. Sid Wilson’s in the conversation for rookie of the year in conference?
True. He'll be in the conversation. I don't know if he wins it. He will likely have starters minutes and plenty of opportunity to work himself into the conversation

12. Hurley’s first 2019 recruit will be James Bouknight?
True. Then the dominoes fall from there.

13. Hurley wins coach of the year in the American?
True. UConn looks like a completely different team with many of the same players and he gets the respect of other coaches in the conference.

14. UConn makes the NCAA tournament with an 8 seed or better?
False. We win the AAC tournament to get in or we get a 1-2 seed in the NIT. I just don't see us having enough pieces fall into place at the right time to get an at large. I would love to be proven wrong.

I'm going to go with NO, even though he has as good of a shot as anybody. Cumberland and BJ Taylor imo are the frontrunners, but if UConn overachieves, JA could (prob is) be the reason for it, and could greatly improve his chances.

Again no, this team I think will focus much more on the best possible shot, and no one on this team is a proven 40%+ shooter. Would need major improvements from all the guys.

No, Carlton, Cobb, and co. will have no mercy for lack of aggression anymore. Quick hooks, crazy energy. I expect rebounding to greatly improve.

5. The 3rd leading scorer on our team by years end will be Josh Carlton?
Yes. I think he will be 3rd leading scorer, but actually second option. CV has a chance to put up big numbers with 3s, but I think Carlton will be a low post monster if we play him and cobb (high post) together.

6. Vital will have a scoring average of 16 plus a gm?
No, but it will be at least 14. I expect a little regression in his numbers just because he had the freedom to do anything he wanted last year, and arrant shots will not be tolerated anymore.

7. Polley scores less then 7 points per gm for an average this year? (2.7 last yr)
Yes, I still expect him to be 8th or 9th option. He needs to get much stronger and more confident. I expect at most 5.

8. Alterique Gilbert plays a full season?
No, based on recent history

No. Could be 2 though. (Cinci, Nova, FSU are possibilities)

10. UConn beats Syracuse at the Garden?
Yes. I will block anyone who answers no to this.

False. I think he will finish second or third. I think Adams is good but he is no Kemba Walker or even Shabaaz. Not sure about the other players in the league but it's just a gut feeling I have.

False. I too feel they will get closer to that mark and feel around 70 is doable. Seeing as I haven't seen them play as a cohesive team though...maybe they will surprise us.

False. Not gonna happen with the current crop of players we have.

True. I think we will still struggle here but consistent slaughter on the boards shouldn't happen with Hurley in the seat.

True. Hurley isn't an offensive genius, but his product will be a lot more attractive than what we've seen lately. Two more buckets a game should be doable.

False. Kind of a weird phrasing. I think they're capable, but I don't think they will. Neither Adams nor Gilbert are great shooters. Shot selection will be better, but even if Vital shoots 38%, the rest of the team won't get to 35%.

4. Team averages under 36 rebounds a gm this season?
False. I think our toughness will be vastly improved on defense and on the glass. A better FG% defense lends itself to more rebounding, even if our bigs aren't very good.

5. The 3rd leading scorer on our team by years end will be Josh Carlton?
False. Too many other scorers. Adams, Gilbert, Vital, and probably Wilson will all outscore Carlton. I do like Carlton's upside, however, but he's not going to be a focal point of the offense.

6. Vital will have a scoring average of 16 plus a gm?
False. I see him around 12 ppg. He'd have to be a legit second scoring option, but I think after Adams it will be more balanced.

False. I think Wilson supplants Polley for much of the playing time at the 3/4 hybrid. Polley will give OK bench minutes, but his scoring will be more like 5 ppg.

True. This is a guess, but the recruiting buzz seems to be mostly in his direction at the moment. Our other top targets are holding out.

False. Hurley will be a vast improvement in the coaching department, but I expect someone else to win COY.

False. Most likely a fringe bubble team. Even the 2016 team didn't get an 8 seed, and this team isn't as good on paper as that one (coaching aside, of course).

Yes. I expect the offense to at least play at a slightly higher tempo than last year, and hopefully be more efficient too.

3. Team is capable of a 3 pt fg pct of 35% or more?

I don't think they have the shooters to pull this off.

4. Team averages under 36 rebounds a gm this season?

Higher tempo means more rebounds, I'll take the over.

Not yet. I see foul trouble limiting his ppg upside. Jalen, Alterique, Sid will lead the team.

Under. Alterique will take many of his chances away, and I see Sid Wilson having a big impact.

True. Pressure defense will create turnovers. Turnovers = possessions w/out the other team getting a shot off, so fewer defensive rebound opportunities. Our offensive rebounding will remain questionable but hopefully, better shooting and more uncontested shots will help alleviate that.

False. It will be someone though. I'm thinking Alterique and Sid will be 2 & 3
