Late to the party on this platform:
In 2021, while having trouble walking into the RENT due to chronically sprained & arthritic ankles, both my wife & son strongly suggested that I consult with an Ortho group to alleviate the pain.
I called Comprehensive Orthopedics in Wallingford & was given an appointment for the next morning (incredible) to consult with Dr. Adam Ferguson, their ankle specialist. He is a miracle worker. First we tried a cortisone shot for temporary relief, which lasted for about 3 months. At the same time I started using orthotics as, at the time I was standing on my feet at work.
In October 2022, I decided on ankle replacement surgery. I had the right ankle done in early November. Immediately post-operation there was no arthritic pain in that ankle. As the recuperation & rehabilitation period was relatively short (total of @ 10 weeks). I decided to have the same procedure done the following November on my left ankle. I got the same results.
You don't realize how much pain you're enduring until you don't have it anymore.
For those in the Central CT. area, I highly recommend Comprehensive Orthopedics. Their main office is in the HHC building in Wallingford, They also have satellite offices in Cheshire & Southington (In Southington they are building a huge new office building). They do surgeries at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. They have a specialist for every joint in the body.
