I won’t say the team is better without Reese because that wouldn’t be true IMO but chemistry has been significantly better for LSU since her departure.

Morrows defense has been a surprise to me. She really does generate a lot of steals and causes a bunch of deflections

Actually, I think LSU is loaded with talent (with or without Angel Reese) and despite what some think, Kim Mulkey is one hell of a coach. Barring injuries they will be in the thick of it come March.

LSU has only played one team that is rated in the Top 60 by Massey and they lost 92 - 78 to Colorado, the next highest rated team is Kent which is currently #109. Today they played Niagara which is rated #262 and tomorrow they will play Virginia which is rated #76. They will finally play someone that is rated in the Top 60 on 11/30, VA Tech who is rated #18.

Their big, Smith, left game today with a knee injury. I really hope it’s nothing, hate injuries, but they will need AR back soon if it is something that lingers for awhile. Smith was playing so well this year, breakout type player, they need her.

If Sam'yah can't come back from this injury, Kim is in a bind and will likely have to play Angel before the team culture problems have been resolved. No news on the seriousness of Sam'yah's injury, but it was a non-contact knee injury and those don't often turn out well.

Without her LSU has no veteran post player besides Reese. I don't see Kim starting either Bartlett or Rosario for more than a few minutes in a cupcake game. Also, without her, Reese has no one to protect her from larger or stronger rebounders and shot blockers.

You know as well as I that what happens in November means little in the scheme of things. Doesn't matter who they've played, won or lost. They are coming together as a team and they will (barring serious injuries) be in the thick of it come March.

I know it isn't popular here but LSU looked darn good yesterday, on court demeanor and chemistry was strong too. Who knows what's going on in that locker room but if there are any issues you couldn't tell based on their play last night.

But my question to posts like this is when is the correct time for Reese to return? This sounded like a planed 2 week suspension considering mulkey said she knew who would be available for the VT game well over a week ago in her press conference outside of the smith injury.

Does Reese’s time away from the team fit the crime? I don’t know, we probably will never know, but whatever the message was it seemed to work and got the message across for their team collectively.

Just my interpretation but between Reese’s complete lack of hustle this year and potential attitude behind closed doors, Kim probably told her to step away and regroup before coming back and causing issues. It was obvious she came into this year unprepared from her summer activities and played like she would just coast off last year. A slap of reality was needed to Ms. Reese and I don’t mean that in a bad way.
