The same thing was true of Van Chancellor - his original stint at Ole Miss, not the later one at LSU. It reportedly was the reason he was receptive to the W.

And incidentally, at Van's WBBHOF induction (anyone could introduce you, on video) Andy was the person doing it. With a lot of jokes about not getting out of Knoxville happy. This was many years ago, when CVS went in (same year).
Andy did make five Final Fours. So at the college level I think he did better than Van.

Under the radar, I think Jody Adams would be a good, young pick for a coach. She's familiar with the SEC, understands the league and what it takes to win in it. She would have a nice mid to upper level tier SEC roster to start off with. She's had Wichita State at a consistent level of success and can flat out in-game coach.

She’s got the college, nation and internationals credentials. She was a All-American and a eye opening coach who took a nothing division one program, won her League Championship and matched into the NCAA Tournament.

She has the eye opening simile and is a great recruiter. She is a disciplinary, a leader and takes no prisoners.

Yes she will lock in the State of Georgia, close the boarders, she will build her fan base with showings in the great facilities in North Atlanta.

In her first seven years she will win the SEC, and challenge in the elite eight.

Welcome To Georgia ….. Jen…!!!!

Cam Newbauer was an assistant under Andy Landers for years. He left there, came to Louisville (for 1 or 2 years, can't remember) all to get the experience of a top tier team. He was hired away by Belmont as their head coach. Every thing I heard about him along the way was that he was vying for the Georgia job once Landers retired.
As an aside, Indiana tried to hire him away from Belmont (his younger sister had just graduated from there or had one more year left), but he did not leave Belmont. I expect he would be a top candidate for the job.

If you're Walz or Mitchell do you consider/take the Georgia job? Georgia would have to pay 250K more to match their existing salaries. More resources at Georgia and if you're able to get the Georgia HS Talent, could easily become a dominant program? What Big Name coaches if your the Georgia AD do you consider?

For me, while not a Big Name Coach, I go after Niele Ivey of ND

BTW, Walz is not leaving Louisville, and certainly not for Georgia. Our AD Tom Jurich would match any dollar amount that Georgia could throw at him. He is on record dozens upon dozens of times that he plans to retire from Louisville.

Georgia admin just let mediocrity set in for several years while other SEC programs turned things up a notch. Landers was good when hardly any SEC programs cared about women's hoops; but, once every other school put in the effort, they left UGa in their dust.
