Tyler's in a good position to have a Hilton Armstrong Senior year as a 4/5.. Matching up against weaker starters and green second team players. I'd exploit him off the bench in that role as a 4/5. Let the starting guards and Daniels play the first 8 Then get Olander his 8 splitting the 4/5 as the anchor during the guard bench rotations.[/quote. Tyler is nothing like Hilton, I expect Tyler to be behind Nolan, Wolf and Facey.

Tyler's revenge. 20 points in Game 1 and a double double for the first five.

TO has had one game ala Hilton in three years. As much as I like the kid he is not "the answer" for anything. Hope he proves me wrong.

How many games like the one TO had against ND this year did Hilton have before his senior year? I can't remember any.

Armstrong
Junior:
11-6-6 versus Quinnipiac
11-6-0 versus Pitt
5-10-2 versus Nova

Sophomore:
11-12-4 versus Quinnipiac

Freshman:
12-7-2 versus VaTech

Those were the only games prior to his senior year where he hit over 10 points OR over ten rebounds.

Olander
Junior year
10-5-0 versus DePaul
16-7-1 versus ND

Sophomore year:
11-10-1 versus Maine
11-10-0 versus Coppin State
12-6-1 versus Arkansas

Neither really wowed the first 3 years. Armstrong has/had better physical tools though.

How the **** does that resemble Hilton's senior year??

People will not let go of this idea that the Olander explosion is just around the corner. He had one good game against a similarly earth-bound big man. Next on the list is that uncontested layup in the national championship game. Maybe the kid's just overmatched.

As far as TO, some might remember how awful Bruce Kucenski was until he finally 'got it' his senior year. Just sayin'.

TO will continue his role as a role player next year. It was never his fault he was forced to man the Center spot. He's never been a Center at UConn. He only had to play the position there last year. He played his best when paired with an athletic Center. The criticism has been unfair. He is what he is. A role player. If he can hit an occassional open jump shot & grab a few boards, that's what is expected of him. He's never been some kind of athletic freak of a savior.... We need to keep expectations realistic.

A guy at work wondered if TO had nagging injuries last year. Any hear anything like that?
TO played with a stress fracture and plantar fasciitis all year. The stress fracture became an overt fracture, requiring surgery...so yes, he was injured all year.
