We aren't finding a home for football only unless the AAC magically lets us pick up our bags and leave, but keep football.

The thinking is if Big 12 adds BYU for football only, since their Sunday restriction is nightmare for other sports and they're currently independent in football, then possibly to keep numbers even they'd add a 2nd football only school (or BYU and UConn would be 3/4 added teams). It also solves travel situations for BYU/UConn, only requiring the longer travels for the football programs that can afford it. If we can present ourselves as a solution to the BYU problem, any little bit helps.

Seems counter intuitive based on our football strength, but you never know.

Let's be serious. There's no way any P5 conference is taking UConn as a football only member. They're not going to take only our weakest major sports program.

it makes about as much sense as a major conference taking Alabama for basketball only.

I see the thinking but the chances of the Big 12 picking UConn of all schools as a football only school is about as good as the chances of UConn football winning the national championship next season.
