You know, I wonder whether Notre Dame would be a better fit for the Catholic castaways than for the ACC? ND keeps its football loot to itself, and will thus do the same slight to the ACC that it did to the Big East. In that situation, the acc's prestige is diminished, not enhanced, by having the selfish ND in its midst. Better them than use, perhaps?
In the upcoming Catholic, basketball-centric, league, ND's football bogart is less a factor as the Catholics don't have matching football programs to begin with. No slight there.
Some might say the Big East is better off without both ND and the Catholic colleges. I could say more, but I'll stop here as my observations on such matters have a tendency to rub some posters the wrong way. I'll only say the Big East could come out smelling like a rose after all. I said "could."
