Kid is a stud. If the pistons don't this up he can be unstoppable

Bit of a mixed bag. He's now got 17 and 15 through three quarters, but he's 8-20 from the floor with five turnovers. The eight makes are five dunks, two tip-ins and a lay-up, and several of his rebounds are offensive boards off his own misses. Would like to see him finish a post move or hit a spot up jumper at some point in Summer League. But even with exceptionally raw offense, he still brings a lot to the table.

Are you saying you want him to go 18-20 and not get his misses? Did you see his other summer league games? He also put what almost thirty up this year

I'm saying that if you miss three straight shots at the rim, and don't score (which happened on one possession today), your 12 rebound total is a little bit padded by the fact that you aren't finishing. On the flip side, it also means that your shooting percentage is less of a big deal, since going 0-3 on one possession means the same to your team as going 0-1 and not getting the offensive rebounds.

He ended up with 23 and 18 on 11-23 shooting, which is terrific. But he was around 0-7 on shots that weren't at the rim - and I don't think he made a shot that wasn't at the rim in the first game either, other than one that was called back due to a weak charge call (didn't see his second game). I mean, sure - the idea is to get the easiest shot possible so it's great that he can score 23 without even needing to make a two-footer. But he's going against weaker bigs now than he would during the season, so it would be nice to see him get the ball on the low block and finish and develop his game more - since there are going to be days when the other team won't let you get to the rim.

But it's only Summer League, so not a big deal if he works on those shots and misses them now - hopefully, he'll find a comfort level when the real season starts and make a few more of them.
