And you worried about UConn's OOC?

A few folks were freaking out about the lack of 2014 games. USF is in a much worse spot than we are long-term.

Cincy just scheduled a one-off game at Michigan in 2017.

$1,200,000.

What the hell, a program like Cincy got a 1.2 million dollar check to go to Mich?

.-.
Big Warde deserves praise for this. Honestly, I half expected it simply because Boise often has a hard time booking opponents because schools are afraid to go play them in Boise. This is a win/win.

I sort of wish this were a 4-6 game deal.

This would be a great away game to go to. Boise is a nice place to spend a weekend for sure.

Very end of Nick's Pro-Day article. Hopefully we can leverage our quality OOC home games this year to establish 1 for 1's against HQ opponents as our standard whenever possible:

"Our commitment to our fan base and the state of Connecticut is to bring in quality teams outside the conference each year," Pasqualoni said. "By bringing in Boise State, we're demonstrating what that commitment is."

I think the more appropriate question is how do you feel about it now. Their was a group that was freaking out and a group wanting an announcement, I was in the announcement group. I wanted something released and hoped it was good, both happened, and given the BYU and Boise St. games I'm hopeful for the final game for next year to be on par with the last two.

The others in the Conference that shall not be named need to step up the OOC scheduling, their weakness will effect everyone. We have to become a conference of teams that will take on the play anyone, anywhere theme to shed the stigma that will be attached to it. We can be the guys that the big boys need to strengthen their schedules for this new "playoff"... untill we get out too that is.

.-.
Look at UNC, only one team scheduled for 2014, zero 2015, one 2016, one 2017. Looks like a lot teams have work to do to fill their schedules

No, more worried about the crap conference schedule.

So what you're saying is you prefer to worry about the things that we (WM) can't control? Seems like a lot of unnecessary stress in your life. Just saying.

No stress here, UConn athletics are done. Women's hoops can probably continue its success as long as Geno stays, but men's fball and hoops are done. Not that we can't reach a S16 here and there, but we'll struggle to recruit the athletes to do much better than that. UConn fball is already in the crapper with PP and people are celebrating a recruiting class that was the 2nd worst among all BCS teams, so I guess expectations are balanced.

I'd like to make $1.5mil year and be a complete and utter incompetent failure like PP, that's success.

Can't argue with this incredibly accurate forecast for UConn athletics, you have it all figured out, I bet you're a blast at parties! Have fun with that stress free life you have there, it shows through!

You can be as naive as you wish. Have fun with the 4k other people at Gampel when we battler Tulsa, Tulane, SMU or ECU. #joke

What exactly does any of your past couple of posts have to do with the topic of the thread?

And you need to wake up, attendance has been dropping in all sports for years now it has nothing to do with our current situation. But please, continue to think only you understand what is going on, you have no insight, no knowledge of any kind about what will come yet the ones who want to continue to support the school are the ones being naive? Please spare us.

The arena will look the same as it does for USF, Seton Hall, Providence, hell the Syracuse game barely sold out.

Fair point, but what is the point? This league will probably sign bowl collaborations with the GoDaddy and Las Vegas bowl. It's just awful, and people on this board defend Manuel and PP, it's incredulous.

And unfortunately for us that is probably the best they can do. The reality is there isn't that many good options for this or any conference that does have the name SEC, B1G, PAC12, BIG 12 or ACC

The new conference does give us an opportunity to put up some gaudy records.

Imagine going 9-0 and playing a top 15 Boise team or BYU team?

Several programs has done via this formula. Utah. TCU. Boise.

Couldn't agree more,we have to take the same approach they did. There is no more jumping from 1-AA into a BCS Conference and somehow feeling that we belong. We have to kick some teeth in now for inclusion, and if we don't than we are where we belong. I feel we can take this Sheite Pie we were served up and jam it down there throats, but only time will tell.

I some what agree, but we had the opportunity to start 9-0, in our old conference and we never did. That is because its damn hard to start like that I don't care who you're playing. I hope we can. And if P shows no signs of a turnaround we have to find our Patterson, Peterson, or whoever coaches Utah, and take this program to new heights.

I read something somewhere that Tulsa has finished the season in the Top 25 two times in the past three years.

Houston has been very good in recent history as well. I don't understand why everyone thinks these teams will be slouches. Even if they are unappealing.

Memphis and Tulane sure. But keep in mind, Pasqualoni couldn't even beat WMU.

Anyone else getting the feeling that we are postured to be a middle of the pack team in a completely unnotable conference?
