I'll keep it simple, fire him and hire who? In our situation...
Do you not get we are a state school $$$$$. Without a conference...
Can you cough up the ching to buy out his contract this before given a chance to put his players on the field?....
Again another self-loather. Look at coacheshotseat.com. There's not THAT many jobs paying over $1.5 million a year. We could get a young-up-and-comer with half that and a ton of incentives make the buyout cost-effective. Is this a stepping-stone job now? Sure it is. Id take the next Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly for 2, 3, 4 years as opposed to the disaster we''re stuck with now.
Unfortunately Warde for still unexplained reasons has chosen to marry himself to Hathaway's worst mistake, which has been his worst mistake so far - although I think McHugh is the one who made the decision to keep his buddy PP another year. I wish he would man up and take credit for it instead of letting Warde take the heat.

I could not agree with you more except for the self-loather part. I was TOTALLY aginst the PP hire but the forces that be wore me down on the three year thing. As a side I have stated in the past that I wanted an up and comer over a rehash. Both Al Golden and Addizio were availble at the time.

I also agree with TD Husky on the cancer statement but have to wonder and look at it from Wardes seat. By this Larry and the board have convinced him P has to have the third year and maybe he figures we may be in a conference in another year thus creating a much larger candidate pool.

Love the statement on McHugh, not many realize the juice he had in this and may still have....

Neither were "available" (relative term I guess)... Golden was hired by the U in December of 2010 and Addazio took the Temple job in December shortly thereafter. RE didn't leave UConn until January 1 (maybe 2nd depending on your time zone @ the time).

Tuberville had a job when Cinci called him, Addazio could have pulled a Belichick and we wouldn't be out on an island right now.

Geesh, so was Nick Saban, Brian and Chip Kelly then... that's why I said it was a relative term.

My guess is that Spaz comes in or Hughes is promoted to DC. Still need a special teams/running back coach which I would prefer coming from a smaller school who is younger.

The EXACT kind of Tom Jurich-style ball-busting move that would light a spark around here (and elsewhere) to show that we, like Salomone, MEAN BUSINESS. Unfortunately with our current 'leadership' who think its a swell idea to keep PP for another year despite every shred of evidence pointing at eventual failure it's not gonna happen..
